Happy New Year dear friends! I can’t believe how fast the past year flew by, can you? 2019 was a very exciting and productive year on the blog. Today I am sharing a look back at highlights of some popular posts and personal favorites from 2019. Enjoy!
I started off 2019 by sharing my Cozy Winter Home Tour for the Cozy Winter Homes Blog Hop featuring 25 creative bloggers. If you are looking for ideas for after Christmas decorating or simple ways to cozy up your home for the dreary months ahead, you will certainly want to check it out. I will also be sharing my winter 2020 home tour coming up on January 14th.
Pin Away Wednesdays: Decorative Accessories and Interior Styling
In early 2019 I began a weekly “Pin Away Wednesday” series which has been a big hit with readers! Every Wednesday I shared highlights from one of my many Pinterest boards full of inspiration to pin away. I am so excited to continue the series in 2020, since I loved working on the weekly posts so much last year. You can read my first Pin Away Wednesdays post of 2020 here.
My post full of beautiful ideas for Winter Decorating with Paperwhites was also very popular last winter and into early spring.
Early February was full of Valentine’s Day Inspiration. I shared some of the ways I decorate with Vintage Valentines and Roses for Valentine’s Day as part of a beautiful Valentine’s Day Blog Hop with my wonderful vintage-loving blogging friends.
My Easy To Love DIY Valentine Gnomes were extremely popular with readers last year, and the post is already heating up this year! If you are looking for a fun and inexpensive Valentine’s Day craft, don’t miss this fun tutorial. Nordic gnomes are still trending and make great little gifts!
I created a DIY Shabby-Farmhouse Heart Rag Wreath as part of the February Pinterest challenge hosted by my friend Cindy of County Road 407. The wreath was very popular last year and is getting lots of attention already this year. I am getting ready to make a few more shabby heart wreaths with some variations which I will share some time before Valentine’s Day.
In March I joined 25 blogging friends for the “Sharin’ o’ the Green” Blog Hop. I loved Welcoming Spring with Bits o’ Green (my favorite color!) and seeing all of the creative ways my blogging friends used green in their homes for spring.
Throughout the year I participated in several seasonal Home Tours hosted by my friend Marty of A Stroll Through Life. Spring lovers seemed to really enjoy how I decorated my home for Early Spring Decorating with Bunnies, Birds and Blooms.
Consider the Lilies: Sacred Easter Tablescape
I am so grateful for my friend Chloe of Celebrate and Decorate who invited me to participate in her monthly tablescape blog hops in 2019. Each tablescape hop challenged me to be more creative, and all the blog participants’ tablescapes were so inspirational. My sacred-themed Easter tablescape entitled “Consider the Lilies” was one of my most heartfelt tablescape creations of the year.
Vintage Dishes and Daffodils Easter Table for Two was another favorite of mine since I just love daffodils so much! I was so honored when Victoria Magazine featured one of my photos from this post on their official Instagram.
As Easter approached and spring was springing into bloom I shared some Vintage Cottage and Garden Style Spring Vignettes. If you like to collect spring ideas early, don’t miss this post! You will also find links to 25 other spring decorating ideas that creative bloggers shared as part of the “Hop Into Spring” Blog Hop.
One Room Challenge Week Six: Basement Teen Bonus Room Reveal
In late spring My husband and I worked together to transform our basement junk room into a teen bonus room for our son during the Official Spring One Room Challenge sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens. The previously wasted space has gotten much more use in the past year, so it was well worth the six weeks of stress exciting times!
A Pretty Spring-to-Summer Tablescape featuring vintage Mt. Clemons Mildred China
In early spring my husband spotted a beautiful set of 30+ vintage Mt. Clemons Mildred china at a church rummage sale for only $5.00. I had so much fun using it tablescapes and vignettes several times last year.
In June I shared A Colorful Vintage Cottage Style Summer Home Tour. I enjoyed experimenting with adding more blue to our home for the summer months. Blue is the Pantone 2020 color of the year, so if you are looking for simple ideas for decorating with blue, don’t miss this summer tour.
Beinvenue Summer! French Cottage and Garden Style Summer Porch Tour
This summer our front porch got a much needed mini-makeover. I had extra fun styling it with French flair for the Summer Porches Blog Hop.
Another favorite post of mine that was also popular with my readers was my Stars and Stripes Forever Patriotic Tablescape.
These Upcycled Vintage Chair Spindle Farmhouse American Flags were a super fun and easy summer craft. I am on the hunt for more broken chairs to make a few more this summer.
An even more popular post was my French Farmhouse Lemons and Sunflowers Tablescape. Can you believe those beautiful dishes are from Dollar Tree? I just love a good bargain!
It was a good summer for junkin’ finds and makeovers! Two favorites include my Vintage French Farmhouse Basket Makeover and a beautiful antique China cabinet makeover.

Early Fall Decorating with Vintage and Thrifted Finds
I just loved joining 29 blogging friends for the Transitioning from Summer to Fall Blog Hop. It is always fun to gain decorating inspiration for the tricky decorating time in between late summer and early autumn.
Early last fall my dear friend Debra of Common Ground and I started the “All About Home” link party! The party is open every Monday at 7:00 p.m. est-Thursday at midnight. The party theme is anything that is “all about home” including home decor, crafts, diy’s, recipes, vintage finds and antiques. It has been so much fun to see all the beautiful and creative posts that have been linked up over the last few months. We are looking forward to the party and hoping to see it grow in 2020, so please do plan to party with us and invite some friends to check out the party too!
I also continued to co-host the Thursday Favorite Things blogger link party with my sweet friend Katherine of Katherine’s Corner and several other talented co-hostesses. I am just starting my 3rd year as a co-hostess and I am so thankful for all the blogging friendships that have developed through TFT. The party is open to many different niche bloggers sharing a wide variety of topics, so there is a little something for everyone. Be sure to stop by anytime Thursday-Sunday to check out all the fun.
Celebrating the Grand Opening of Joann in Lexington, KY
In September I had the exciting opportunity to partner with with Joann as an influencer in promoting the grand opening of the new “concept store” in Lexington, Kentucky. It was a blast!
Even though it was the absolute hottest autumn I can ever remember (in the 90’s most days!) I still enjoyed Embracing Fall, indoors at least!
In late fall my husband tackled our tiny powder room for the Official Fall One Room Challenge sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens. The six week process of uncovering the original 1921 and gutting the bathroom was tedious but well worth the work! We just love how our 1920’s Tiny Powder Room Revival turned out. It was wonderful having a “new” bathroom for guests just in time for the holidays.
Vintage-Traditional Thanksgiving Dining Room Tour
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday so I loved joining my blogging friends for the “We Gather Together” blog hop. I shared more of my Vintage-Traditional Thanksgiving decor and late fall vignettes.
The holiday season was whirlwind with my unexpected return to full-time teaching, blogging, finishing up a couple of Christian Ministries graduate courses and the regular hectic, yet exciting activities during the most wonderful time of the year. In between it all I managed to decorate our home in a very traditional and elegant way that the whole family and guests truly enjoyed.
I actually didn’t get around to posting my home tour until Christmas Day although I had shared my Christmas Dining Room Tour earlier in December. I do plan to use many of the same ideas and traditional color scheme next year, so I might refer back to my own posts for ideas! I don’t know about you, but I often forget about some of my decorations as the year goes by, so it’s nice to have photos to look at several weeks before the holiday season begins to jog the memory.
I hope you enjoyed a look back at my blog highlights of 2019! It was truly a wonderful blogging year full of creative inspiration, artistic growth, and friendship. Thank you so much to those of you who have been following along for a while and to all my new readers too! I am looking forward to sharing more home decor, crafts, diy’s, gardening, vintage, antiques and junkin’ finds in 2020. I hope you will continue along on the journey!
Thanks for visiting! Happy 2020!
Amber
