Welcome friends! Today I am excited to share all about the super fun experience I had celebrating the grand opening of the new Joann store in Lexington, KY on Friday! I was honored to collaborate with Joann by sharing live videos from the event on Instagram and Facebook, as well as a few other photos on social media.

As soon as my husband and I pulled into the parking lot on Friday morning, we could tell that the grand opening was going to be a huge success. Customers were greeted with music from a live DJ and refreshments from Starbucks. The store was full of balloons and there was just an overall festive and exciting atmosphere as shoppers came rushing through the doors!

What’s New at the Lexington, KY Joann?

I didn’t quite know how this new Joann would be different from the other Joann stores I had visited, but it was apparent as we entered the doors that the Lexington Joann is unique. It is much larger than the average Joann store, with a larger variety of merchandise. I heard one customer describe it as “a Joann superstore!”

This particular Joann “concept” store with a brand new contemporary design is one of only seven in the United States. It is full of on-trend home decor products, rows and rows of arts and crafts supplies and integrated technology throughout the store.

The store name has also changed from Joann Fabric and Crafts to simply, JOANN with a catchy tagline, “handmade happiness.”

Crafters can register to attend a ton of fun hands on with Joann craft and artisan workshop events throughout the year at the Lexington location.

Technology and the Customer Experience

I was blown away by the integration of new technology, innovative products and services that are available in the customer friendly, hands-on craft area. I think the “cut bar” area is genius! Instead of having to wait in a long line to have fabric cut, customers can sign in and continue to shop until their name comes up on the cut bar monitor screen which can be seen from around the store.

This area is also where customers can try out various sewing machines and Cricut machines. For example, if you want to experiment with a Cricut machine before purchasing or if you just need to use it for a quick craft or project, you can rent one for $15 for two hours. What a great service!

Shop ‘Til You Drop!

Home decor and holiday decorating enthusiasts will love this new Joann. The displays are fantastic! There is a huge selection of eclectic Halloween decorations and the absolute cutest farmhouse fall decor.

I am loving their fall signs this year!

I couldn’t resist playing with the merchandise and styling up a few vignettes with some of the beautiful home decor accents in the Simply Autumn collection.

These candles smell so yummy! A basket of candles would make a great gift for a fall birthday. The Cozy Blanket, Chestnut Spice and Apple Pie candles are also wonderful Christmas scents.

The trendy felt wreath, cozy throw, and beaded wood farmhouse sign are all cute modern farmhouse fall accents. I also love the weathered wood crate.

Ready to get crafty with Joann?

Knit it!

 Create it!

Sew it!

This Joann is a sewer’s and crafter’s paradise with rows and rows of gorgeous fabrics to choose from.

Arrange it!

I love wreath making so I can’t wait to spend more time browsing through the beautiful floral section.

As a thank-you for sharing the grand opening on my social media accounts, I received a gift card from the Joann. I can’t wait to shop “The Bloom Room”  on my next visit! Thanks Joann!

It’s already time to get a head start on Christmas crafting! I love Joann’s winter greenery and rustic and natural wreath supplies.

Whatever type of creative you are, Joann can help you design your own journey!

Wow Amber this is amazing. I wish one was in NJ. Love the new Joann logo. How great to have access to try a cricket. I also like no waiting on line for fabric. Being able to shop around and wait isn’t only great for the customer but the store.

    Joann bring this to NJ.

Think I may see some items for fall or Christmas.

Congratulations Amber! What could be more perfect than a blogger promoting the grand opening of a craft/fabric store. I popped in for TFT and saw your post. I know I wanted to read it, and I don’t even live in Kentucky. Have a great weekend!
