Welcome back friend for a nother post in my Pin Away Wednesdays series! Today I am sharing highlights from my “Decorative Accessories and Interior Styling” Pinterest board. On this board I pin ideas for styling vignettes, mantels, tabletops, etc. using candlesticks, baskets, books, trinkets and treasures. The board features a mix of non-seasonal, vintage and modern accessories that can be used together to create stylish, up-to-date looks. I first shared this post around this same time last year, but I have just updated it with some new images of fresh decorative accents for 2020. Here are some of my favorite images from the board. Feel free to pin away! *This post contains affiliate links.
When you think of “decorative accessories” and “interior styling,” what kind of objects or vignettes come to mind? As an avid vintage collector and decorator I immediately think of carefully curated vintage collections or a few trendy decor pieces that can blend together to make a home look and feel stylish and welcoming at the same time.
I end up mixing and matching styles since most of my decor is thrifted and I just buy whatever “speaks to me.” I always find a way to use found objects in our home regardless of the “style category.” Likewise, my Decorative Accessories and Interior Styling Pinterest board is a mix of many different styles that I love.
Beautiful Decorative Accessories and Interior Styling Ideas
This console table is styled with a mix of chic and organic elements that add visual interest and texture.
Trays are perfect for tables and ottomans. Candlesticks/candles, flowers, books, houseplants and unique found objects can all work together harmoniously in a styled tray arrangement.
Vintage books or deconstructed books are perfect for filling in gaps in a vignette or adding height. You can pick up books at the dollar store and simply rip off the covers and tie up bundle of twine for quick and inexpensive “vintage-trendy” decorative accents.
I love creating seasonal vignettes on my vintage steamer trunk our living room. In my post “How to Style a Coffee Table Vignette,” I shared how I choose various decorative accessories and how I arrange them in styled tray vignettes.
Feeling Blue, and Happy About It!
Blue and white pottery has always been timeless, but it is definitely on trend right now since “classic blue” is the Pantone color of this year.
You can find more lovely examples of classic and trending blue decor in my post, 2020 Interior Design Forecast: Expect a Bluetiful Year!
I also shared more Beautiful Blue Decor and Treasures in one of my Pin Away Wednedays posts last month. That vintage French bottle is just so sweet!
Bottles of all kinds are beautiful decorative accessories that look great grouped in a collection.
Larger glass bottles, jugs and demijohns always look stylish and are especially beautiful in garden style vignettes.
This image is full of beautiful decorative accessories and interior styling ideas. I love the demijohn with a single branch of greenery in the entry way and the layered rugs, blanket ladder, vintage oil painting above the mantel and candlesticks on the mantel. Cozy pillows and a throw make the room seem so welcoming.
Dough bowls of all shaped and sizes are so versatile in decor. They can be filled with various items and changed seasonally to keep things interesting.
Rustic and elegant moss spheres look perfect in dough bowls or on top of candlesticks.
Elegant topiaries are some of my favorite decorative accessories for kitchens, mantels, buffets and sideboards. Lavender is always a good idea! Olive tree topiaries are classic but they are looking to be the trendy topiaries for 2020.
Indoor plants are so popular right now and they can be styled in so many different ways. Beautiful greenery just seems to liven up any area with happy vibes.

I love pinning ideas for styling bookshelves in creative ways using books and decorative accessories.
There is just so much eye candy here!!!!!
I love the eclectic mix of vintage farmhouse accessories in this photo! Neutral decor and decorative accents are still going to be huge in 2020, but with pops of color too.
Throw pillows, natural rugs, baskets and house plants are staple decorative accessories.
Boho textured pillows and velvet pillows are still on trend for 2020 as well. Adding texture to a room is incredibly easy and cost-effective. Customizable design services can assist you in adding texture to any room. Check out the Joybird reviews and see what you can do or what can inspire you for your own home.
Velvet fabric is my favorite so I am swooning over this colorful mix of velvet pillows!
Gold, copper, and metallic accents add touches of glam to any vignette.
So far it is looking like gold is the hottest metal for 2020. Of course gold is a classic!
Salvaged wood corbels and bits of architectural salvage are some of my favorite decorative accessories. Candles and candlesticks definite go-to decor accents.
Wooden trays and baskets are great for corralling kitchen supplies on the counter.
Tiered trays were huge in 2019 and are looking to be just as popular in 2020.
Here are some of the hottest trends from 2019 that are still going strong:

In 2020 we will continue to see a move toward eco-friendly decor such as hemp and bamboo as well.
I hope this post has given you some new ideas for using decorative accessories and some interior styling food for thought. I am always pinning new pins to this pin board so please feel free to follow along here if you enjoyed the inspiration.
Baskets and candles and plants, oh my! I love them all! What are your favorite go-to decorative accents? I love hearing from you, dear readers!
