Happy November dear readers, and welcome back to Thursday Favorite Things! I am so happy to be joining Katherine at Katherine’s Corner and a wonderful group of blogging friends as a co-hostess for this fantastic weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers too! If you are looking to grow your blog, make new friends, and be inspired each week, this is the place to be. *Bloggers: If you would like a chance to be featured, please leave me a comment with the number of your link up. We can’t wait to see what you have to share this week! (If you missed last week’s party you can find it here To get the party started, let’s take a look at what I have been up to recently:
Last week I shared how I arranged a beautiful bouquet of grocery store flowers in my latest fall find, a $1 vintage ironstone (blue transferware) pitcher. The bouquet was on clearance since some of the flowers were wilting, but I just threw those away and filled in the gaps with some fresh cut herbs from my garden. It turned out so pretty and now I can’t wait to go grocery shopping just to check out the clearance bouquets!
For Trick-or-Treat my special guest contributor and Hauntingly Beautiful Decor co-host, Larissa Jenkins shared her unbelievably “hauntingly beautiful” Halloween home tour! Larissa’s historic “Welch House 1900” has been featured in several magazines including Romantic Homes and Country Sampler. Larissa fills her home with the most amazing French and European antiques and vintage finds on a budget! Most of her jaw dropping furnishings and decor are Craigslist finds.
Just because Halloween is over doesn’t mean that the fall fun of pumpkin carving has to end! Why not add some beautiful pumpkin luminaries to a Thanksgiving mantel or tablescape? For more ideas on decorating with carved pumpkins after Halloween, check out my post, Elegant Pumpkin Carving Ideas For Halloween Through Thanksgiving.
And just like that…it’s November! With winter just around the corner it’s time to start preparing the garden and landscape for the colder months ahead. This past week I shared some easy ways to transition from fall to winter in the garden to add winter curb appeal, along with some important tips for winter garden and landscape maintenance.
