Welcome friends! Or should I say, “ Beware! Enter if you dare…This hauntingly beautiful home tour just might give you a scare!” Today I am excited to have my dear friend and Hauntingly Beautiful Decor co-host, Larissa Jenkins here to share a tour of her historic Welch House! Built in 1900 it is a real gem from a bygone era. Today it still retains it’s historic charm with the magic of Larissa’s decorating touches and attention to historic detail in restoration and vintage decor (mostly her unbelievable Craigslist finds!)
If you saw her Halloween home tour from last year, then you already know you are in for a treat…or a trick or two! Now it’s time for Larissa to guide your through her eerie and elegant home!
I am so excited that Amber asked me to share my Halloween Home again this year here on her gorgeous blog! Hopefully you were able to visit us last year, but now I’m so excited to show you this year’s Halloween decor! We will see some familiar “spooky” faces from last year and also meet some new ones! Let’s get started!
As we first enter Welch House we will be greeted in the foyer by a quartet of masked busts.
This spooky quartet keeps company with an eerie gold candelabra and a sinister flock of black crows.
But…wait…I hear something or someone descending from the staircase….
Do I see red eyes?!??
Don’t be alarmed friends…this eerie apparition is just the newest addition to our Halloween Home.
With her long flowing ragged dress, stringy silver locks and mournful face, our ghost girl “Elisabeth” is right at home in our Haunted mansion. Was she a jilted bride? Perhaps a young soul taken too soon? We may never know, but she is frequently seen haunting the halls of Welch House.
Let’s take a detour and come into the library…to sit for a “spell”. Oh wait, it looks as though we already have company.
Judging by her skeletal appearance this witch looks as if she’s been waiting a long time to greet her guests.
Dressed in a lacy ball gown and high heels she doesn’t look too scary sitting atop the antique couch.
Maybe we will stop to say a quick “Hello”.
Did you hear that? A thunderstorm just rolled in…perfect weather for touring a haunted house.
Let’s proceed into the front parlor where it’s already dark and gloomy from the violent storm.
Good thing the candelabras are well lit just in case the power goes out…
On the mantel the clock is stuck at midnight…the witching hour.
The candlelight makes perfect spooky shadows along the walls…wait, do I see bats?!?
Let’s take a quick seat and peer into the crystal ball for a quick look into our future. The crystal ball says we are wanted in the back parlor…oh no!! I wonder what awaits us???
Oh good it’s just a familiar face from last year’s tour! Our friendly butler Fred! Surely he will keep us safe in this creepy house.
Even the paintings wear masks!!!
Wait what do I see behind us against leaning the armoire??? A MUMMY!!
And a fashionable one at that! She is decked out with a crown upon her head and loads of pearls around her mummified neck.
Who do I spy peeking around the wall at us? Oh it’s just Maleficent the black cat who dwells here at Welch House!
Fred is beckoning us to enter into the last room of our tour…the haunted dining room.
It looks as though a witch has prepared a feast for us!
What is that I see sticking out of the cauldron? Yikes skeleton hands! I don’t think I want what she’s been brewing, even the rats on the table don’t look interested.
Through the eerie glow of the candlelight I spy her witchy form near the fireplace…complete with green hands!!!
Is that her ghoulish face I see taking form through the antique mirror?
I bet the crystal decanters contain her potions…Let’s take a closer look.
Ewww!! An eyeball!! I’m glad this haunted home tour is coming to a close!
I hope you enjoyed your tour of Welch House this year! I am so happy to have had you all visit for a “spell” again, and hopefully gave you a few spooky ideas for your own haunted House.
I want to give Amber a huge thank you for allowing me to share again this year!!
From everyone here at Welch House including Maleficent, have a safe and spooky Halloween!
Eeeek! If this home tour doesn’t give you all the spooky Halloween feels, I don’t know what will! There is so much attention to detail! If you enjoyed this amazing tour don’t forget to leave Larissa a comment and stop by her Instagram to give her a “hello” and a follow. She is always sharing the most elegant romantic French inspiration.
Thanks for visiting today! Happy Halloween!
Amber
