Happy October, and welcome to Thursday Favorite Things! I am thrilled to be joining Katherine at Katherine’s Corner and wonderful group of bloggers for my third year as a co-hostess for this fantastic weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers too!
If you are looking to grow your blog, make new friends, and or simply to be inspired each week, this is the place to be! *Bloggers: If you would like a chance to be featured, please leave a comment with the number of your link up. We can’t wait to see what you have to share this week! (If you missed the last party you can find it here.) To get the party started, let’s take a look at what I have been up to recently:
Fall Fun at Hatcher’s Greenhouse
Last Friday I had a day off from teaching (much needed after the returning to in-person/virtual hybrid instruction!) I headed out early for a little junkin’ which led to an amazing discovery along the way. My favorite local greenhouse and nursery (Hatcher’s) is still open for the season… and it is absolutely a fall lover’s dream! On Sunday I shared a post with tons of beautiful pictures of gorgeous pumpkins, plants and creative fall displays. If you love fall and gardening, then you certainly won’t want to miss this post!
When I go out junkin’ I am always “pheasant hunting.” I have several different pheasants and pheasant items that I use in my decor during the fall, and also a few that I like to use in English cottage vignettes year round. This colorful vintage pheasant was my favorite find on Friday. Love it!
“A World of Octobers” Blog Hop Outdoor Fall Display Ideas
Earlier today I joined my friend Cecilia of My Thrift Store Addiction and several other talented bloggers for a fun mini-blog hop with an outdoor fall themed. I shared the cool-toned cottage garden display I designed this weekend and a few other fall outdoor decorating displays from previous autumns.
Happy Plaidurday! Fall Plaid Decor Inspiration
On Friday some Instagram friends and I kicked off the fourth season of #madforplaiddecor, which was perfect timing since it was also “Plaiddurday!” I also celebrated by sharing a post full of gorgeous fall plaid decorating ideas here on the blog. If you are on Instagram you can share your beautiful plaid, tartan and checks anytime Friday-Thursday with the hashtag #madforplaiddecor from now through January! Follow and tag your hosts for a chance to be featured on the following Friday. See my IG post here for more details.
Pin Away Wednesdays: Allergy-Friendly Cooking and Fall Recipes
For Pin Away Wednesdays I shared a round up of healthy, allergy-friendly fall recipes. Even if you aren’t on a restricted diet you can still enjoy some tasty recipes with “clean” ingredients. You might want to check out some recipes to share during the holidays with friends and family members who have food restrictions too.
This week’s Throwback Thursday:
A French Vintage Fall Vignette with Bittersweet
This weekend I will be adding some bittersweet to my existing fall decor. Here’s a look back at how I used bittersweet in my fall decorating last year.
