Don’t you just love all seeing all of the fabulous fall porch displays each year? Fall is in the air and bloggers and home decorators are busy cozying up their porches for this glorious season. Today I am sharing tips for creating fabulous fall porch displays using beautiful fall porches for inspiration. *This post contains affiliate links and/or sponsored content.
Fall is the wonderful season when we cozy up our homes and create warm and welcoming interior spaces. Of course it is also a time for our porches and landscapes to really take center stage as they showcase the beauty of autumn’s splendor. Pumpkins, mums, lanterns, Indian corn, bales of hay and corn stalks are traditionally used to create beautiful and welcoming fall porch displays.
Whether you prefer traditional bold colors or the softer and more muted tones that have become so popular in recent years, adding pumpkins to the front porch is a must for creating a fabulous fall porch display. I love the simplicity of pumpkins in urns. Here the addition of some fading hydrangeas add texture and interest.
Fall containers can be absolutely stunning! There are so many different combinations of late summer flowers and autumn plants. Autumn kale and cabbages are my favorites when combined with colorful seasonal mums and annuals. Flanking the front door or stairs leading to the front porch with classic urns filled with beautiful autumn plants is always a good idea.
In addition to mums and autumn kale, purple fountain grass is a wonderful choice for containers either as a filler or a single specimen plant.
For a farmhouse fall porch display, simply fill old crocks with mums and place some colorful pumpkins alongside the crocks.
There’s nothing better than a little front porch sitting for a little positive reflection during the crisp, cool fall mornings or relaxing in the late evenings Add a plaid throw or a festive fall throw pillow to an old rocking chair for extra autumn style.
In addition to pumpkins and containers, don’t forget to accessorize the porch with fall signs, rustic containers, baskets, crates and door decor such as a wreath or basket filled with fall goodies.
Late Autumn Abundance Garland and Swag
Gorgeous wreaths, garlands and grapevine pumpkins can add natural elegance to a front porch.
Outdoor Sunburst Mums Collection
Add unexpected pops of color as well as character and interest on a covered porch or patio by incorporating fun vintage furniture and accessories. Style a pretty vintage table or chair with real or realistic faux pumpkins and farmhouse style baskets of mums or wheat.

Colorful Pumpkin Harvest Set Of Six
Cozy up a rocker or porch chair with a fall throw and pillows. Rustic lanterns and farmhouse baskets are also nice decorative fall porch accents.
GALVANIZED METAL CANDLE LANTERN, SET OF 2
A variety of traditional and heirloom pumpkins and gourds in vibrant hues mixed in with just a few potted plants looks lovely when lined up porch stairs.
A mix of colorful pumpkins with a monochromatic choice of red mums creates a stunning porch display.
Softer and romantic fall porch displays are all the rage in decor, especially fitting for cottage and French Country style homes. This lovely combination of pinks, purples and muted fall tones is just gorgeous!
The combinations of colors, design and style is almost limitless when it comes to creating fabulous fall porch displays! It seems that almost any combination of fall plants, foliage and fruits ends up resulting in an eye catching display. I love this unique purple fall porch decor scheme by Design Dazzle. It makes me want to embrace more purple in my own autumn decor this year!

I typically use traditonal fall colors on my front porch, and cooler fall colors on my back porch and patio and garden. To see tons of ideas for fall porch decor, check out my post above. You will find links to 20 other fabulous fall porches at the end of my post.
My fall back porch with cool tones
When your porch is decorated for fall with beautiful fall gifts from nature and cozy creature comforts and a few personalized items, it can almost be like having your own little escape room to relax and unwind. If you don’t have a covered porch check local awning companies for affordable options for covering a porch or deck.
The front lawn leading to the porch is also a great place to showcase seasonal fall displays. Of course you will want to make sure your lawn is still looking great for fall. No matter how much time you spend on your fall porch decor, if your grass is brown and dying it will certainly take away from the curb appeal! If you need help with lawn care and repair, consider contacting professional lawn care services. *Remember if you are going to be working outdoors in the yard and landscape to use tick repellent and bug spray at all times! You can also treat your lawn to remove pests in order to reduce the risk of contracting Lyme disease.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing all of these beautiful porches and the ideas I have shared for creating fabulous fall porch displays. This year I am really keeping it simple on my front porch and I am really enjoying how it is coming together so far with little effort. Look for my fall porch post later this week!
