Spring is here (even if some of us are still getting some snow) and we are all more than ready to pack away all of the heavy textiles, woolen scarves and anything else that reflects winter decor. Nevertheless, most of us still want to create cozy and welcoming spring homes that invite relaxation and comfort.
Spring Home Tour: Easy Decorating With Birds, Bunnies, and Blooms
Even on sunny, spring days it may still be a little chilly. Relaxing with a hot cup of tea in front of a warm fire, electric heater or your best pellet stove is just as comforting in spring as it is in winter. No matter the season, hygge is all about embracing cozy living and the comforts of home. Today I am sharing Fifteen DIY Spring Hygge DIY decor ideas. *This post contains affiliate links.
During the winter months I like to embrace the “Hygge” style. Hygge focuses on simplicity and accentuates home decor and design elements, along with clothing and foods which bring comfort and simple beauty to our everyday lives. I also like to carry those cozy vibes into spring.
I love all of the spring hygge ideas on Pinterest like these DIY simple mason jar vases wrapped with lace and filled with beautiful fresh, soft pink roses and fragrant lavender.
Macrame is still one of the hottest decor trends. This natural, handmade decor accent is perfect for a boho hygge vibe. Use a wall hanging, plant hanger or macrame table runner to incorporate fresh spring hygge decor style. Check Pinterest for lots of great tutorials and macrame decorating ideas.
Create a mossy nest basket or put a simple twig and moss nest with bird eggs on display for spring.
DIY spring botanical printables
Add some simple DIY spring botanical printables to an old, chippy window to create unique and natural spring hygge style art.
DIY painted white wash terra cotta pots equal simple spring hygge style.
Another simple DIY spring hygge decor idea: Plant forced spring bulbs in white washed terra cotta pots.
Keep the spring breezes flowing with a rustic DIY ceiling fan makeover. Simply white wash the fan blades and replace glass globes with wire baskets turned upside down. Brilliant! There are also many rustic ceiling fans to choose from at Modern Fan Outlet.
Nothing says “spring” quite like fresh tulips! Simply fill a large glass jug with water and a bouquet of beautiful tulips and place the arrangement in any room in the house.
Simple fresh cut spring flowering branches displayed in a pair of matching glass vases or demijohns will add a touch of spring hygge style to any designer kitchen.
Display natural cut spring branches that are just starting to bud in an old, rusty pitcher. Hang DIY spring farm animals or bird tags on the branches.
Pull out your pretty spring tea cups and enjoy a hot cup of tea and a good book on a rainy spring day.
Cream Cotton Cable Knit Throw Blanket for Couch Chairs Beach Sofa, Home Decorative Blanket
Don’t forget to keep a light weight blanket or throw on hand for those cooler spring days too.
No hygge style home would be complete without cozy candlelight! Burn all-natural, essential oil soy candles in light and fresh spring scents to evoke a welcoming and peaceful ambiance.
Update your decor with wallpaper with a simple design in a neutral color scheme such as gray, cream, or beige.
Using different shades of greys throughout your home can create a soft and welcoming hygge vibe. Gray is also a great color to use on your next DIY painted furniture makeover. The gorgeous cabinet pictured above is the perfect gray color topping with natural and rustic hygge inspired spring vignettes.
