    But First, Jesus.

Hello there! It’s going to be a busy day right? Do you have a “to-do” list a mile long for the day or week ahead? I know I have a thousand things I would like to accomplish, and I am sure you do too. Let’s get to it!

    “But First, Coffee.”

We have all seen this slogan on cute coffee mugs, farmhouse signs, chalkboards and even t-shirts. It’s a well-known fact that coffee practically fuels our world! But where is our true power source? Shouldn’t we really be saying, “But first, Jesus” instead? Coffee is fine, (it’s green tea for me, thanks), but the issue is whether or not Jesus is our top priority. I know I have had to take a closer look at my own priorities lately, and I quickly realized that Jesus most certainly has not been first.

It’s been an exciting week as my long awaited new blog has finally become a reality. I have barely been able to sleep with all the creative ideas running through my mind.  Although I have blogged in the past, a chronic long term illness resulted in sporadic blogging and eventually a total hiatus. As with all things technology related, so much has changed and there are many new things to learn, but I am a born go-getter, and when I put my mind to something it’s all or nothing! Read more

Finding The Meaning Of True Love On Valentine’s Day

    Source

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your day has been filled with LOVE. Yesterday I was taken aback at the crowds of frenzied and frazzled people rushing around doing their last minute Valentine’s Day shopping. It was almost as crazy as Christmas Eve! It made me stop and think about how silly all of the commercialism is, and what God must think about all the spending that goes into a holiday created to show people that we love them on one specific day a year!

I also started thinking about people who don’t have a “Sweet Babboo” (as Sally calls Linus), or elderly people who don’t have children or grandchildren to visit them. I thought about the hurting people who have been broken and betrayed by infidelity, or those who have lost a loved one. These types of situations can make Valentine’s Day truly miserable for certain individuals. How could I share God’s love with them? How could I minister the meaning of true love, God’s perfect love? Psalm 103: Finding Comfort In God’s Covenant Promises For Healing And Deliverance

Happy Sunday during the season of gratitude and Thanksgiving! Today the Lord impressed upon my heart to share Psalm 103. I have several friends and family dealing with chronic health issues, and having dealt with them myself, I have found this Psalm to be a very powerful balm for the anxiety and nervousness that comes from illness, and not knowing where to turn for help when doctors have no answers. Psalm 103 reminds us of many of the benefits that come along with being a child of the one true God—Yaweh, Jehovah. Because he is a covenant God, we can be assured he will keep his promises to those who are in covenant agreement with him. First of all, what is a covenant?
