Hello everyone and happy summer! I am so honored to be participating in this exciting week of summer home tours with thirty amazing bloggers hosted by Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. If you are coming over from my talented friend Laura’s blog, Decor To Adore, or if you just happened to stop by the blog, I am so glad you are here! Today I am welcoming you to join me for an early summer tour of “My Old Kentucky Home!”
Hello dear readers and friends! I am so happy to be participating in the Thrifty Chicks June Challenge! This month’s theme is garden art. I have always used pieces of salvage or vintage junkin’ finds as repurposed garden art. I often style garden vignettes just like my indoor vignettes and think of them as works of art! One of my favorite projects is this DIY repurposed vintage dishes bird feeder. This is not a totally unique and new idea for garden art, but I had been wanting to make one forever and I had plenty of extra vintage dishes in my hoards to play around with. It is however a one of a kind work of art, created by me for my mom as a gift.
Home Improvements: Financing Your Home Renovation Plans
One of the largest investments you will make in your life is owning your home, and of course you want to make it your very own! With the popularity of home improvement shows like Fixer Upper on HGTV, there is a continual growing interest from Americans looking to renovate or remodel their homes. A strong housing market has spurred families to get on the home improvement train, as we all attempt to make our homes look the best they can.
Welcome back to my Let’s Go Junkin’ Series! It’s summer and that means it’s a great time for hitting up all those yard sales, flea markets, antiques shops and estate sales. Most junkers and collectors are pros at going treasure hunting and thrifting, but a lot of us often forget about (or ignore altogether) the online auction market. Many collectors just aren’t familiar with any online auctions other than Ebay, or perhaps they may be a bit intimidated by other online auctions which feature high end and expensive antiques and collectibles meant for “serious collectors.” Nevertheless, there are some really great auction sites online that offer affordable and unique vintage items and antiques. Today we are going junkin’ around the world from the comfort of home by exploring the online auction market.
