Lovely Lavender Themed Gift Basket

Hello everyone! This coming Sunday is Mother’s Day, and I am so excited to finally give my Mom a lovely lavender themed gift basket that I have been putting together over the past couple of weeks. It turned out so cute and it smells so good! I am happy that I was able to fill the basket with some organic and all-natural goodies too! (Dear Mom, if you have clicked on this post, do not read more until next week!)  *This post contains affiliate links.

I got the idea for a lavender themed Mother’s Day after I made my DIY Five Minute French Country Lavender Pots last month. If you are still looking for a last minute gift idea, these pots are super inexpensive, quick and easy to make, but they are very pretty and chic.

I knew I was going to give my mom one of the little lavender pots, but I wanted to get her something else to go along with it. Usually we give each other vintage junk for all special occasions, but she and I have both been trying to cut back on the hoarding, so I wanted to go a different direction with her gifts for Mother’s Day. She had been asking me about the all-natural soaps that I use, so I knew she would enjoy a bar of my favorite Plant Life Aromatherapy Lavender soap .

When I was shopping for the soap, I also noticed a tube of Deep Steep Lavender Hand Cream, so I thought it would be nice to put the soap and hand cream in a basket with the lavender pot for Mother’s Day. Then over the matter of a couple of weeks, I just kept picking up a few little lavender items here and there until I ended up having enough to fill a garden hanging basket from Dollar Tree. Mom loves flowers so she will be able to use the basket outside once she puts away all of her lavender goodies.

Last summer I picked up this cute herb scarf thinking I could use it somehow for crafting, but I decided to give it to her instead. It makes a nice little basket filler too!

My mom and I share a love of tea, and we always like to try out different kinds. I knew she would love this stress relieving and tasty Traditional Medicinals Chamomile With Lavender tea in the evenings. She also has a bit of a sweet tooth, but since I am a “no-refined sugar advocate” and she is trying to avoid refined sugar as well, I wanted to find some naturally sweet lavender infused honey for her basket. I came across these lavender honey spoons instead and they were just too sweet (pun intended!) not to include in the basket.

I also suspect that my mom has a gluten allergy like me, so I try to only give her GF snacks and beauty products, like the organic and GF, Badger Lavender Orange Lip Balm.

Mom is a wonderful cook and she loves trying out new recipes. She always enjoys my roasted chicken and homemade chicken soup, which I season with Herbes de Provence. This tasty spice blend of lavender, rosemary, basil, tarragon oregano, fennel, parsley, thyme, sage, and marjoram is one of my favorites to use.

I thought about adding a small, essential oil lavender candle, but I remembered her telling me she was stocked up on candles, so I just finished up the basket with a pretty card and a small bundle of fragrant dried lavender. I am also going to give her a small potted lavender plant on Sunday for her garden.

My mom is the most grateful person I know, always more happy to give than receive. She would have been thrilled with just the lavender pot, but I wanted to make an extra special  basket because she is extra special! She is always on the go and taking care of others, so calming lavender (and chamomile) is just what she needs! I also wanted to be sure to give her all-natural, organic and high quality products. Only the best for my Momma!

Greeting card

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

I love making gift baskets! Although I am giving this basket to my mom for Mother’s Day, it would also make a great birthday, “thank-you” or teacher appreciation gift. It would also be great for any fellow lavender lovers.  Are you a maker and giver of gift baskets too? I love hearing from you dear readers!

Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope everyone has a blessed Mother’s Day weekend ahead!

Amber
