Hello friends! Are you getting excited for summer and the upcoming patriotic holidays? Around Memorial Day I always start adding some patriotic flair to our home and garden for summer. I just love the old-fashioned vibes the red, white and blue bring! Here are some of the ways I have decorated for patriotic holidays and summer, as well as a few favorites from blogs and Pinterest.
Last year in An Early Summer Home Tour Of My Old Kentucky Home I created a simple summer berries tablescape with blue and white dishes and red ticking stripe napkins. The tasty real blueberries are long gone, but the faux strawberries still look fresh and yummy on this year’s table!
I love creating a Farmhouse Style Fourth of July Vignette for the May Pinterest Challenge a few years ago.
My “Stars and Stripes” Forever Patriotic Tablescape ended up in the 2019 Summer Issue of Country Sampler Magazine!
A vintage chest or dresser is a great place for seasonl vignettes and displays. For the patriotic holidays, just shop your house for any red, white or blue items you may already have or anything relating to vintage Americana.
In the past I have also created vintage patriotic vignettes on a shelf and faux fireplace mantel in the dining room using blue transferware and other little trinkets. notice the tiny cherries (a reference to George Washshington and the cherry tree tale!)

Several years ago I shared my patriotic porch for the Patriotic Porches Tour, and it was so much fun that I decided to host a Patriotic Party link up to allow bloggers to share all their fabulous red, white and blue in one place. For lots of great ideas, you can go back and visit the party.
In addition to my Pin Away Wednesdays: Patriotic Decor post I have been so inspired by all the beautiful ideas I have seen on Instagram and blogs too that I wanted to do a post to share a round up of some more of my favorite patriotic decorating inspiration.
My friend Laura @theclassiccottage Instagram has shared three lovely home tours here on the blog. I always love seeing how she adds festive farmhouse style holiday touches to her cottage. I am really loving her Americana decor this year!
I love Heather’s vintage patriotic decor at Beauty For Ashes. Her fresh vintage farmhouse style vignettes are so fitting for summer.
Liz Marie’s modern farmhouse patriotic decor is simple and chic.
Kim at Savvy Southern Style added beautiful red, white and blue accents and furnishings to her sun room.
Debra at Common Ground always has the most amazing vintage holiday vignettes! Her sun porch is a delight to see through the seasons, but I especially love her summer patriotic displays!
This is such a beautiful vintage patriotic table setting by Camelot Art Creations. Love that vintage soft blue scale!
Jann at Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson has styled some of her fun vintage finds into a creative vintage patriotic vignette.
I adore this beautiful summer vignette via Country Sampler.

Unless of course you add a Coca-Cola or two!
We have cold cokes, watermelon and sparklers… we are ready for “The Fourth” at our house!
I just love Patriotic porches! An all-American porch decked out with red, white and blue just seems so welcoming and beckons you to come and sit and sip a cold drink in the shade!
Of course it’s fun to decorate for patriotic ideas around your garden and patios too. Here’s some great ideas for Summer Decorating with Flags, Flowers and Ferns.
I hope you have enjoyed these inspiring patriotic decorating ideas and that you have a wonderful and blessed upcoming Memorial Day!
Thanks for stopping by!
