Happy mid-February and welcome to Thursday Favorite Things! I am so excited to be co-hosting this fabulous party with Katherine of Katherine’s Corner and a fantastic group of bloggers for this inspiring weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers!
If you would like to make some new friends, grow your blog audience, or just find some weekly inspiration, this is the place to be! *Bloggers: Please leave a comment with the number of your link up for a chance to be featured at next week’s party. The hosts are all looking forward to what you’ll share this week! (If you missed the last party and the AWESOME features, you’ll find it here.) To get the party started, here’s what I have been up to recently:
As you may remember from last week, we were in the middle of a massive snow and ice storm that resulted in 90% of our community losing power for over week. Some families are still without power at the two week mark! It was a very difficult and scary time with trees falling everywhere resulting in house fires, continual electricity outages and blocking travel.
(This photo was taken before the second and third round of ice and snow hit!)
As a result of the loss of electricity I wasn’t able to do a lot of blogging, but I did use my time during the daylight hours to do some cleaning and pre-spring decorating (we were lucky to have a generator which provided power for a heat source). All I can say is that I am officially OVER winter…Bring on spring!
Early Spring Vignettes on an Antique Sideboard
Our power was restored late Saturday evening, which gave me some time on Sunday to take photos in time to join this month’s Pinterest challenge. On Tuesday I joined several blogging friends in sharing ideas for styling tables with traditional spring decor. This was such a fun challenge and really helped me get a jump start on my spring decorating!
“Throwback Thursday”
After all the snow and ice we have had, I am more than ready to bring on the green! Here’s a throwback to one of my favorite posts featuring ideas for Welcoming Spring with Bits o’ Green!
Now here are some beautiful features from last week’s party!

Thank you Amber, I can’t imagine being without power for days and days, I’m so glad you had heat…we were lucky in Birmingham, we just missed the snow and ice, only had less than an inch of snow and no poser outages. My links are #24, 26, 28, Hurry Spring!
February 25, 2021 at 9:20 amAs pretty as the picture was encased in ice, no thank you. The second picture was a mess. Thank goodness you had a heat source.
Last summer when we lost power for a week in the heat we spent the money for a whole house generator. My husband said you are not going through that every again.
Thanks for the feature. and I’m number 48 this week.
