There’s a load of options, such as going to a window treatments store near you, buying online, buying second-hand, and, of course, waiting until there are sales to get your hands on some affordable window treatments (which especially helps with a shoestring budget).

Upgrade Lighting

Another budget home improvement you can make would be for you to enhance the lighting of your home.  The actual fixtures themselves may also be replaceable and this is a very inexpensive replacement for you to make. You can often find gorgeous vintage fixtures at thrift shops.

In addition to improving your interior lighting,  you should not ignore your exterior lighting. From chipped lampposts in your yard to any patio fixtures you have, it’s wise for you to try and upgrade things when you can. If you live in an area that gets a lot of sunlight then you should give some thought to solar panels too. This is one of the best ways for you to take advantage of a lot of saving opportunities.

Built-in Bookshelves

One thing that buyers often look out for is storage. The more storage you can provide them with, the better. Nothing creates solid storage more than having some striking bookshelves.

If you can add detached bookshelves then this will get the job done but at the same time, it won’t add value to your home in the same way that a built-in bookshelf will. A built-in shelf is a good way for you to bring both beauty and elegance to your home, and this is especially the case when you have it above a fireplace. In addition to putting in some shelving, you can also create custom storage units. Anywhere that can be used to house Christmas trees or holiday decorations is always welcomed. You can also use Tupperware to store individual items. Refinish your Floor

If you have a hardwood floor then you may want to pay to get that refinished too. A lot of the time, you don’t have to replace your whole floor and if you simply put in the work to get a recoat done then you will find that you can not only save money but also a great deal of time
