Hello and welcome to the 53nd All About Home Link Party! Today was the first day back for teachers and I have to say I am a bit overwhelmed with all the new changes this school year. Our district is starting out 100% virtually beginning next Wed. through through Sept. 28th. Teaching choir 100% online is going to be a challenge. In some ways it will really be like a brand new subject, but I will do my best to make it a success somehow! I think I need this shirt so I can remind myself to keep calm every time I look in the mirror!
I always get a bit of the back to school blues this time of year, so I am really excited about tonight’s party. Everyone always is so inspiring and encouraging, and I just love “hanging out” with my bloggy friends here at the party. It is an interesting time for decor, recipes, and crafts during this “transitional” time between the seasons, so I am really looking forward to seeing some fun ideas for transitional decor this week.
Debra and I are thrilled to be your hosts each week. Before we move on to the link up, here’s what we have been up to recently:
This weekend I took some time to pack away most of my summer decor and to do a little late summer-to fall decorating . I was inspired to create a vignette on the vintage chest in our dining room using several of my late summer junkin’ finds, including a Stunning Vintage Art Deco Chalkware Lamp. Love it!
Around this time last year I decorated the same vintage chest with more of a traditional, vintage back-to-school themed vignette. Who knew what just one year in the future would hold for us all? Oh how I miss the pandemic-free, simpler “vintage” school days of the past (like the early 80’s, haha!)

August is National Peach Month! Enjoying Peaches in Recipes and Decor
Did you know that August is National Peach Month? I love enjoying all things peaches in August! Last week I shared a post all about peaches and it has been a big hit with my readers. If you love peaches you won’t want to miss this post. (Warning…you WILL crave peaches!)
This week I finally found the most amazing peaches at a local farm stand. They were just so fresh and tasty! I ended up buying $20 worth in two days and they were worth every penny. I made gluten-free crock pot peach cobbler and it didn’t last 20 minutes in this house! I am certainly going to pick up one more bag full as soon as I get off work tomorrow. Having tasty peaches for lunch or an afternoon snack will give me something to look forward during our teacher in-service trainings the rest of this week.
Well it always seems like it one step forward and two steps back when it comes to renovations, but the kitchen is actually coming right along. Maybe not as fast as I would like, but overall we are still on track to be finished by fall which was my goal. As you can see, everyone’s favorite breakfast nook is now completely gone, but I have come up with another idea for this space. It will be a suprise!
I have been looking around online for some cute new accessories for the kitchen. I really don’t like mass produced retail items, but I have found some great vintage reproductions at Decor Steals in the past. On Friday I shared Eight Great Farmhouse Friday Deals at Decor Steals. If you are looking for some super cute farmhouse decor, head on over to my post to see how to steal the deals!
I always love Debra’s August and September decor. This week she shared more of her beautiful seasonal transitional decorating in her post, August Dining Room with Sunflowers.
Now it’s time for some beautiful features from last week’s party!

Hugs,
Deb
You have to be so stressed with the pressure to teach chorus virtually. Good luck and let’s hope that virtual learning will soon be a thing of the past.

August 19, 2020 at 6:03 amAmber, good luck with this new way of teaching. I can’t imagine the stress of having to prepare everything virtually. I’ve finally organized all my 2020 vintage finds (so far) into one post, sharing today. It’s good armchair candy for those of us who love the hunt. Thanks for hosting.
