Happy May and welcome to Thursday Favorite Things! I am thrilled to be joining Katherine at Katherine’s Corner and wonderful group of bloggers for my third year as a co-hostess for this fantastic weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers too!
If you are looking to grow your blog, make new friends, and or simply to be inspired each week, this is the place to be! *Bloggers: If you would like a chance to be featured, please leave a comment with the number of your link up. We can’t wait to see what you have to share this week! (If you missed the last party you can find it here.) To get the party started, let’s take a look at what I have been up to recently:
My husband and I spent the entire week working on a brand new landscaping project in our backyard. The area alongside the garage has been neglected for the six years we have lived in our home, but after only a week it is really looking great. I am so excited with how things are progressing!
It was only supposed to be a temporary spruce up until we eventually build a deck, but the landscaping turned out so well that we have had a change of plans. We ending up doing more “permanent” landscaping in this area. Tomorrow I will share a post with more details about this project and the vintage junkin’ find that finally gave me a vision for this space.
My herbs are also looking so beautiful this week. I have been enjoying their fragrance and beauty as we have been working on the rest of the landscaping.
Our patio area and side door entry is also going to be getting a makeover, so many of the vintage garden style elements I use their will find their way to the backyard. I have gone back to look at some posts from last year to gain inspiration and to see what changes I want to make. If you love vintage garden style, I encourage you to check out the posts above and below for tons of vintage cottage garden inspiration.
I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day! Did you add any patriotic decor around your home for the holiday weekend? I put out some mini-flags in the ferns on our front porch, and buntings on the front and back porch. I will keep these on display from now through the Fourth of July, then put them back out about a week before Labor Day.
If you like to decorate with patriotic decor for summer or if you want to get a head start on a cute project for the Fourth of July, check out my post on how to Upcycle Vintage Chair Spindles Into Farmhouse American Flags. I just love how they turned out!
