Summertime Inspiration at Thursday Favorite Things

blueberries summer decor summer recipes

Happy summer, and welcome to Thursday Favorite Things! I am so happy to be joining Katherine at Katherine’s Corner and a wonderful group of blogging friends as a co-hostess for this fantastic weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers too! If you are looking to grow your blog, make new friends, and be inspired each week, this is the place to be. *Bloggers: If you would like a chance to be featured, please leave me a comment with the number of your link up. We can’t wait to see what you have to share this week! (If you missed last week’s party you can find it here.???? To get the party started, let’s take a look at what I have been up to recently:

Simple Summer Lantern Decorating Ideas

Simple Summer Lantern Decor

On Tuesday I joined a wonderful group of blogging friends for our monthly Pinterest Challenge. June’s theme was summer lanterns. I enjoyed styling my two new lanterns and sharing a few more Simple Summer Lantern Decor ideas that I love. At the end of my post you will find even more summer lantern inspiration via the links to each of the other participant’s blogs. The bloggers really rose to the challenge this month!

Stars and Stripes Forever Patriotic Tablescape

On Friday I shared my Stars and Stripes Forever Tablescape for the Patriotic Tablescape Blog Hop. The week long hop was a huge success with twenty bloggers sharing spectacular patriotic table setting ideas from the USA, Canada and Italy! If you love vintage patriotic decor and Americana, then I think you will really enjoy my table as well as all the others.

BHG

Once again this week I must ask you to take a rain check on my patio and garden tour (you know, the one I have been promising you for the last three weeks…) Hopefully this beautiful photo from BHG will suffice for now!  We had another week full of nothing but rain and gloom so I haven’t been able to get any pictures. In addition the flowers are stressed from the heavy rains and they need some recovery time. The good news is, the past two days have been full of glorious sunshine (although it was extremely hot and humid) so maybe, just maybe, I will be able to get some photos of my outdoor areas. I also can’t wait to take more photos of my antique china cabinet makeover for the reveal that I had hoped to show you this week too. Here’s another sneak peek:

There have been some changes around the house as a result of the china cabinet moving in, so be watching for a new post about the cabinet sometime before next week’s TFT party. I think I may have caught the the furniture makeover bug again, so I will be checking my local Habitat Resale or freecycle group  for pieces that might just need a little TLC.

Kitchen Makeover Planning: Beadboard Options

We are also starting to make some serious plans about our kitchen makeover! This week I shared a post about beadboard options.  We are checking into different types of flooring and countertops from companies such as Precision Stone Design. I will be documenting the planning process over the next few months and hopefully the actual makeover process as those plans become realities!

Now it’s time for some beautiful features from last week’s party!

Hi Amber! Thanks for hosting. White washed terracotta pots and that simple but sweet flag banner caught my eye this morning. Our weather has been awful, and my allergies this year may do me in. Never have I ever had asthma before this wicked season, and I feel so much compassion for folks who suffer through this regularly. I’m sharing at #85 – it’s a before/after of our ugly bedroom wall and how we fixed it in just one evening. It isn’t the cheapest DIY out there, but buy once, cry once, yes? Hope this finds you well, lovely.
