Summer Home and Garden Style at Thursday Favorite Things

Happy June and welcome to Thursday Favorite Things! I am thrilled to be joining Katherine at Katherine’s Corner and wonderful group of bloggers for my third year as a co-hostess for this fantastic weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers too!

If you are looking to grow your blog, make new friends, and or simply to be inspired each week, this is the place to be! *Bloggers: If you would like a chance to be featured, please leave a comment with the number of your link up. We can’t wait to see what you have to share this week! (If you missed the last party you can find it here.)???? To get the party started, let’s take a look at what I have been up to recently:

Summer Home Tour Summer Flowers Vintage Finds

Last Friday I joined my friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life and 20 other bloggers for the Summer 2020 Home Tours. I enjoyed decorating with my “use what you have” motto, shopping my basement for vintage finds and fresh flowers from my garden.

I am really enjoying how our home and garden is looking for summer and I would love for you to “visit” to see what I came up with. You will find links for all of the fabulous tours at the end of my post.

The new “old-fashioned cottage garden” landscaping in our backyard that I have been telling you about for the last month is really coming along. The whole project was actually inspired by this vintage thrifted sink. It’s crazy how one find can completely change our home or gardens. That’s the life of a vintage junker!

Here is a sneak peek of how my husband repurposed the sink into a potting bench as a Mother’s Day gift!  The potting bench was the catalyst for all the work that has continued over the past five weeks, but it has been well worth it. I promise to share more updates this coming week along with a few photos of these old lilies that are now blooming profusely.

Because I have been working so hard outside and spending almost all of my time in the garden, I have enjoyed the simplicity of my summer table setting. Soon I will be setting a full patriotic tablescape and decorating the dining room with vintage Americana. I love bringing out the red, white and blue for summer!

Stars and Stripes Forever Patriotic Tablescape

I am excited to join several friends for a Patriotic Tablescape blog hop on June 23rd! I really loved how my dining room turned out last year, so  I have revisted my Stars and Stripes Forever tablescape post for inspiration. If you like vintage patriotic decor, you might enjoy a look back too!

Thanks so much for sharing my acai bowl, Amber! I love your potting bench and your simple fern on the table…why didn’t I think of that? Ferns are one thing I can grow! I’m partying with you today at #147, 148, and 149 with an eye toward father’s day, the 4th, and vintage shops I loved in Tennessee. xox

    Happy summertime,
    Barb 🙂

p.s. I remember your Patriotic decor post from last year. Actually part of my thoughts with decorating for July 4th myself this year! <3 OHHH!!!! And I am on the hunt for a cool sink top like yours… Very cool find, btw!!! Love how your bench turned out!!! Charles promised me a potting bench for Mother's Day before we moved out of our last house. Never materialized… Maybe if I find a sink top! 😀
