Welcoming June at Thursday Favorite Things

Happy  JUNE and welcome to TFT! This is now my sixth year co-hosting this fabulous weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers with Katherine of Katherine’s Corner and a fantastic group of bloggers!
NOTE: The party time has changed to 9:00 a.m. MDT (11:00 EST).

If you are looking for inspiration, want to share new ideas or make new friends, you’ve come to the right place!

Here’s what I’ve been up to!

School is OFFICIALLY out for me as of Tuesday morning, and I feel FREE! No chance to do any decorating or blogging in the last two days, as I have just pampered myself by allowing myself not to do ANYTHING, with the exception of using the sauna at the YMCA and talking a couple of walks. This summer is going to be about regaining my health and strength as apporoaching 50 and the dreaded peri-menopause/menopause symptoms have been keeping me down long enough! Garden therapy really helps!

We’ve had so much rain it has been hard to really accomplish any type of new landscaping or even freshen up the beds, but the daisies I transplanted from the yellow brick home are thriving and bring a pop of happiness in between rainstorms!

I also love how my “Herbs and evergreens” bank has come back this year! I experimented with planting anything and everything I had at my disposal in late summer last year as we were moving in here, not really knowing what would “take” but everything I planted has come back lush and lovely. Even the lavender, which I have never had success with overwintering, is doing well.

In mid-June I always like to start adding some patriotic touches around the house. We weren’t actually living here during early June last year, so I am looking forward to creating some summery vibes with patriotic flare. I like to look back at some of my old posts for ideas (also reminds me of things to look for that STILL might not be unpacked.) This move has been ROUGH! More about that in an upcoming “venting” post! 🙂

    Amber,
I can not imagine how stressful the move has been which is why I decided to stay here in my townhouse for now in the wake of Joe’s passing…I may change my mind in the future but for now, I can not even think of going through a move….My Link Ups are Numbers 52,53 and 54…..
Thanks so much for hosting this charming party!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links!!
    Hugs,

Your lavender is so pretty. How wonderful that your plantings have “taken root” and are flourishing. You’ve had a long tough year; glad that you can now get some rest and relaxation. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your gorgeous home. Thanks so much for sharing my urn this week!
