Welcome spring’s arrival with a simple and pretty spring door basket filled with your favorite spring flowers and greenery.

Spring is just a month away, so it’s time to start thinking about pretty spring wreaths and door decor! As you may know, we are renovating another 1920’s home that we purchased back in the fall. Even though we aren’t moving just yet, I am hoping that I will be able to show you the front porch all spiffed up and decorated as part of my spring home tour next month! I am wanting to create a pretty spring door basket for my new (antique) door, so I headed to Pinterest to search for some ideas. Take a look!  *This post contains affiliate links.

A Few of My Easy DIY Spring Door Baskets

A few years ago I created a spring door basket using a thrifted cone shaped basket and the florals swiped from a thrifted wreath. I was so pleased with how simple it was to make and how it turned out, so I have been making seasonal door baskets ever since.  I always just stick some floral foam down in the basket to secure my seasonal florals and greenery of choice, then dress up the basket with a pretty seasonal bow.

I have also used a longer, narrow door basket on my front door nearly every spring. I just change out the greenery and flowers each year for something new. Here I mixed fresh daffodils  in little vases tucked down in the basket, along with faux asparagus fern, faux willow branches and faux forsythia for early spring.

 I often just change the flowers as the season progresses too. For March I might use forsythia, then change to tulips or other florals that mirror what is blooming in nature around our home at the time.

Pretty and Easy Spring Door Basket by Stonegable

A neutral door basket with spring blooming branches and white ranunculus is simple and classic. I love the black and white striped ribbon too.

This shape of this longer basket is so interesting, and I love the explosion of colorful spring flowers.

The Whimsical Door

A grouping of pretty pink peonies in a smaller basket with a burlap bow is understated and elegant.

Of course you can also hang a simple front door spring basket indoors too. Isn’t this basket just darling? I adore those tiny tulips.

For early spring in March and April, I think a forsythia filled basket is a great choice. I absolutely love the simplicity of this forsythia spring door basket.

Common Ground Spring Door Basket

For late spring, seasonal flowers like ivy, hydrangeas and liles are are great choices for spring door baskets. The white basket with yellow plaid ribbon is so pretty too!

If you don’t want to make your own, there are some really affordable door basket choices on Amazon. I am loving this Pink Berry Wildflower Door Hanger Basket. (Affiliate) I am seriously considering ordering it for my side door.

A spring door basket for our new porch?

Here are two photos of our new front porch with the door and sidelight makeover in progress! The bottom picture is before. My husband has almost finished the makeover since these photos were taken, and he is putting on the finishing touches as weather permits.  I can’t wait to show you how it turned out when it is all decked out for spring with pretty spring door decor!

If you don’t already have a basket for your front door, hit the thrift shops! I am certain you will find some type of basket or even a bucket that will work as door decor for next to nothing. Dollar Tree also has some nice spring flowers that can look elegant when tucked in a pretty basket.
