Happy spring everyone! Are you giving your home a style refresh for the season? I have been working on several different makeovers and refreshes all throughout the house, concentrating mainly on unifying each room with a neutral color scheme which is calm and classic. Even within neutral homes, adding fresh touches of green using indoor plants can be very much needed for interest and a bit of color. Indoor plants can work in all different styles of homes, especially modern or boho chic. Today I am sharing some beautiful plants that will work beautifully for those of us who prefer, farmhouse, French country and cottage style decor. *This post contains affiliate links.
The great thing about indoor plants is the fresh feeling they can bring when you are looking to decorate your whole home. Whether you place an accent plant here or there just to add interest in a neutral space, or want to group a display of several plants together in a foyer or entry to create a refreshing welcoming, indoor plants are a great way to add organic style and classic charm. Of course they also have the added benefit of cleaning and purifying the air indoors.
Place small and easy to grow indoor plants in garden inspired containers and group them together in a wicker basket or styled tray as a natural tabletop display.
Herbs are quintessential French country and some of the easiest indoor plants to grow! A simple pair of potted herbs in pots with lovely patina look beautiful on an kitchen island. Try displaying a collection of herbs on the kitchen counter on top of a vintage rusty scale or in an old ironstone bowl within easy reach for cooking.
Lavender is definitely a favorite of mine and so perfect for imparting classic French Country farmhouse style.

A stunning collection of various cacti, aloe, and succulents, look gorgeous even in a romantic cottage style home.
Succulents are all the rage and are so easy to grow. Aloe is also a great medicinal plant and handy to have growing indoors to use to sooth burns.
Group a collection of various, easy care indoor plants in a sunny window in a living room or on the kitchen counter. If you aren’t lucky enough to have a lot of natural sunlight you can use an artificial light specifically designed for indoor plants at Lumi Growth.
Houseplants: The Complete Guide to Choosing, Growing, and Caring for Indoor Plants
Wow! I have really gotten into putting together this post of beautiful indoor plants for French country, farmhouse, cottage and even traditional style homes! I am so excited to get started with some fresh herbs later this week, as they have already arrived at my local garden center. I have quite a green thumb when it comes to outdoor plants, but indoor plants are a different story, so we will see! How about you? Do you decorate with indoor plants? If so, what is your favorite? I would love to hear from you!
Happy (indoor) gardening and spring decorating!

April 5, 2018 at 2:54 pmI always love having a Rosemary plant indoors, but don’t have a lot of green plants. I think they are so pretty, but I have a lot of décor so I just bring some greenery in now and then. Especially love ferns and lavender. The ones in the sap buckets are fabulous! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

May 10, 2018 at 2:37 amThank you Michelle! I have a green thumb outdoors but I have never had much success with indoor plants, but they are gorgeous and back “in style”. I am going to try succulents, I am hopeful I can make them grow. If not the faux succulents are pretty realistic these days! Thanks for visiting!
