Welcome dear friends! Can you believe that winter is nearly over and St. Patrick’s Day is coming up in less than a month? Do you decorate for St. Patrick’s Day? While I am not a fan of the mass produced decorations that seem to be designed for parties, I do love decorating with green and celtic items. I choose to either create my own St. Patrick’s Day decorations or use vintage Irish related dishes, collectibles, etc. in vignettes. This year however I have been noticing some really cute ways to decorate for Saint Patrick’s Day in farmhouse style. If you haven’t decorated for St. Patrick’s Day in the past, perhaps these farmhouse style Saint Patrick’s Day decorating ideas will inspire you.
Last year I challenged myself to infuse some rustic French farmhouse style into a traditional Irish holiday. I created a Rustic Farmhouse St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape, and it turned out to be one of my favorite tablescape so far.
To keep my tablescape from looking too “store bought” I just concentrated on creating a farmhouse style tablescape with green and neutrals, and then incorporated some subtle little St. Patrick’s day touches such as the ribbon on the napkins, a rusty olive bucket of faux shamrocks, and scattered gold coins along the table.
Farmhouse Style Saint Patrick’s Day Decor
Here are some other cute farmhouse style St. Patrick’s Day decorating ideas that I love.
Tiered tray are all the rage and I have seen some really creative ones lately. I love this Saint Patrick’s Day Tiered Tray by Start at Home Decor.
This pretty farmhouse style Saint Patick’s Day tiered tray can easily transition to Easter with some simple changes.
I like to be imaginative and think of Scandinavian gnomes as the leprechauns’ magical cousins! Because gnomes are associated with gardens, forests, and lucky magic, they can be an adorable modern take on leprechauns for Saint Patrick’s Day.
Ever since I made my Easy as Magic DIY Nordic Christmas Gnomes I have sort of been obsessed with gnomes! I made a a couple of Lucky St. Patrick’s Day gnomes using the same tutorial I shared for my DIY Valentine’s Day Gnomes to Love.
These little guys are truly the cutest, and luckily, they are easy and inexpensive to make!
I love this farmhouse St. Patrick’s Day vignette. The sage green ticking stripe shamrock garland screams farmhouse, along with the wood signs.
Modern farmhouse and fixer upper is all about DIY and simplicity. This little DIY paper shamrock and pom pom garland is just too cute!
If you don’t want to go all out you can always use a few festive St. Patrick’s Day farmhouse style pillows. Pillows made from green ticking or those that have green French grain stripes are great choices for farmhouse homes.
Decorating with moss is popular year round in farmhouse style decor. An over sized burlap bow and wooden initial adds a farmhouse look to this simple moss shamrock wreath.
A bowl or urn filled with moss balls or greenery spheres can reference St. Patrick’s Day without the shamrock’s, rainbows, leprechauns, and gold coins.
Decorating with vintage frames is another popular look in farmhouse style homes. I love this framed moss shamrock.
Farmhouse signs are so popular and they are also easy to make. If you don’t want to go overboard with the St. Patrick’s day decorating, a small sign on a mantel or in a vignette is a simple way to add some festive luck o’ the Irish decor to your home.
If your style is more French farmhouse, consider creating a St. Patrick’s Day chalkboard design or a frame a beautiful printable in a gorgeous vintage frame.
My talented friend Michelle at The Painted Hinge magically incorporated traditional celtic-themed objects in her beautiful St. Patrick’s Day farmhouse vignettes.
How To Create Vintage Vignettes Using Green
You can always use various things you already have to create St. Patrick’s Day vignettes that may not be specifically for St. Patrick’s Day. Shop your home for anything green or items that reference Ireland or Celtic traditions.
If you have been struggling with coming up with farmhouse style St. Patrick’s Day ideas, I certainly hope you have found plenty of inspiration here today. Do you decorate for St. Patrick’s Day? I love hearing from you dear readers!
I hope you have a lucky (blessed) week ahead!

March 21, 2019 at 11:15 pmHi Amber, I’m a fairly new subscriber to your blog. I’ve really enjoyed exploring all of your recent posts, especially all of the ones pertaining to “green”. I too have a March birthday. Must be why we both love green so much. With that being said, I noticed in some of your photos that you have two beautiful wing back recliners on each side of your fireplace. Would you mind sharing where you purchased them? Love your style.

March 19, 2019 at 5:16 pmSo much inspiration Amber. I have a dessert set of Tara from Ireland. It was given to me by my MIL years ago.
Eventhough my hubby is Irish I don’t decorate much. I’ll make him Cottage pie and homemade Irish soda bread.
Have a great day!
