Happy New Year! Welcome to the first TFT of the New Year! I am so happy you are here. I am blessed to be joining Katherine at Katherine’s Corner and a wonderful group of bloggers as a co-hostess for this fantastic weekly blog party. If you are looking to grow your blog, make new friends, and be inspired each week, this is the place to be! If you would like a chance to be featured, please leave me a comment with the number of your link up. I am looking forward to seeing what you have been up to!
Before we move on to the party, here is what I have been up to recently.
This week I was busy wrapping up the holiday season here on the blog. I shared A Holiday Grand Finale: Christmas Home Tour 2017 which was so much fun! I feel like the holidays flew by, and working on this post after Christmas actually allowed me to spend some more time playing around with my Christmas treasures and trinkets and now I am a little more willing to part with them for another year.
Although I have blogged for several years on my previous blog Junkaholics Unanimous, last Christmas I was in the process of transitioning to Follow The Yellow Brick Home and did not post a Christmas tour. Since this was the first Christmas for Follow The Yellow Brick Home, I wanted to share my Christmas Home Highlights 2016 with my readers as well.
On New Year’s Eve I shared A Timeless New Year’s Eve Vignette which all my vintage loving readers will surely enjoy.
Now here are my features from last week’s party:
French Ethereal linked up her readers’ top 12 favorite posts from 2017. I absolutely loved her Vintage English Candy Boxes!
Although I am a lover of the quiet solitude of snow and stillness of winter, I have to admit this gorgeous photo of some Sweet Inspiring Gardens by French Ethereal has my gardening heart pitter-pattering!
Sew Historically shared an interesting article on Victorian Store Bought Christmas Presents. I love Victorian Christmases as you can see in my last two home tour posts!
Debbie Dabble also shared some Victorian Christmas magic with her Victorian Christmas Doll House. You simply must see all the amazing details! Being a music teacher, lover of the Victorian era, and tiny treasures, I was absolutely giddy about discovering the little music room on the top floor of her “home tour.”
She also introduced us to Mr. Nelson, who is cozy reading his newspaper in a parlor decked with all the finest furnishings of the time period!
I did share a couple of photos of my Victorian doll house in my Holiday Grand Finale Christmas Home Tour 2017. I only showed the exterior because the interior is a bit of a fixer upper and will be getting a makeover during winter. I will definitely be on the lookout for tiny treasures on my junkin’ adventures of 2018!
As we move forward into a fresh new year, we can all use a little detoxing and clean eating! Due to multiple food allergies and autoimmune issues I must follow a strict diet with low sugar, but I do indulge in nutritious fruit smoothies from time to time. Shannon at Aka Design.CA shared a 3 ingredient Banana Berry Smoothie that looks delicious!
Blogger Lora Bloomquist stunned me with this amazing Christmas home tour full of unique ideas for decorating with vintage finds…my passion!
How cool is her collection of antique and vintage Christmas tree stands??? I am on the hunt in 2018 for pretty blue vintage Christmas decor and some tree stands too. Thanks for the inspiration Lora!
Thank you to everyone who linked up last week. Now it’s time to see your Thursday Favorite Things!
