Happy May dear friends! Earlier this spring I shared a couple of photos of the vintage style shears and twine set that I received from Victorian Trading Company for review. Now that gardening season is well underway, I have been using the shears daily to snip fresh herbs to use in recipes and the twine to tie up bundles for drying. I love and use my little set so much that it inspired me to share a post with ideas for using these types of sets for gardening, crafting or simply as charming decorative accent.
This cute cast iron shears and twine holder set fits right in with the rest of my vintage French farmhouse style kitchen decorative accessories. I keep the shears and twine on the counter next to the sink.
My herbs are growing just outside the side door that is near the kitchen. I just grab my little shears and head outside to snip whatever I need to use in recipes. Now that the herbs are really putting on some growth, I will be using the twine to tie up bundles to dry.
Using Vintage Style Scissors and Twine for Gardening, Crafting and Decor
Vintage style scissors or small shears and twine sets make charming and useful tools to keep in a garden tote, on the potting bench, or in the greenhouse.
Larger and more heavy duty sets with thicker twine can be used to tie heavy stems and stalks to garden stakes.
Scissors and twine are so useful for snipping and gathering up bouquets.
All the different sets are so charming! They make beautiful decorative accents, especially when displayed with other vintage farmhouse style accessories on shelves or in vignettes. I love this pretty cast iron set with a bird on top!
Of course there are so many uses for handy shears and twine sets in the craft or sewing room too.
Do you own one of these handy little sets to keep close at hand? If so, how do you use or display yours? I love hearing from you, dear readers? Thanks for visiting today!

Indigo violet, bluebell, cornflower are my favorite colors. If I ever had a large store, I would carry all these gorgeous twines in a gardening section.
