Potting Shed Progress

DIY potting shed

Hello friends! I just wanted to share a quick post about our potting shed progress. Things are slowly coming along, but we are the home stretch now.  I am hoping we will have this project wrapped up completely by mid-October!

Here is how the shed looked when I first shared a post about it back in early July. The cottage garden was looking so pretty then!

We now have walls, windows and a roof! The garden in front is less vibrant than summer, but still so pretty with the butterfly bush still thriving, and some lingering cosmos, giant marigolds and zinnias providing fall color.

The door still eludes us! The opening ended up being a bit shorter than a standard door. I really a vintage that can be cut down, but we may have to make a custom door to fit. You will notice that I used newer windows instead of vintage. Keeping the shed dry and as bug free as possible is a big priority, so I opted for new windows.

Home Is Where the Boat Is

After painting we will finish the trim around the windows, and add charming window boxes to fill with fall flowers! Of course I can’t wait to decorate around the shed and garden with beautiful fall mums, pumpkins and gourds.

The siding shown here has not been painted. I don’t think I am going to paint it to match the yellow brick. I am still deciding on the color for the shed, but the green shingles do match our roof.

Montana Happy

Green is my favorite color…hmm…love this! But I also love creamy white sheds. What do you think?

Well, that’s about all for now! My husband has been swamped with getting back into the swing of back-to-school (He’s a principal) but he has managed to get some work done on the weekends it hasn’t rained! If the weather is good, I think we will get a lot finsihed up this coming weekend. I will share an update post with all the changes.

How is your fall garden and outdoor decorating coming along? I love hearing from you!

Thanks for visiting today!

Amber

I think it’s so adorable and I know you’ll have it be so charming. I’m loving the idea of the creamy white. But then a garden shed in any color is perfection in my book! Hope your weather is good; your garden is still so lovely. Crazy hot in sw Missouri this week!
