Hello friends and welcome back to my Pin Away Wednesday series! Summer is almost here, the sun is shining and flowers are in full bloom. All the color in nature is influencing my decorating and I find myself adding more bits of color into my overall neutral color scheme. While I enjoy seeing painted walls in bright colors in other people’s homes, I prefer to keep our walls neutral and incorporate color pop through decorative accents. Today I am sharing highlights from my Colorful Interiors Pinterest board. It is fun to pin beautiful rooms that may have a little more color than what I would personally want to live with but I think are stunning nonetheless. Enjoy all the pretty colors, and pin away!
I love how white painted walls act a blank canvas when bright and colorful furnishings and decorative accents are used in abundance.
All of this gorgeous color is so fun and uplifting!Studies show that dull interiors can make you feel depressed, so feel free to add some color and happiness to your dwelling spaces!
Colorful room don’t have to be “loud” or distracting. Soft and serene colors such as blues and greens are great choices for those who love neutral color schemes but want to play around with color.
One of my favorite ways to add color is through textiles. Pillows, blankets, curtains and table linens in playful colors and patterns can change the whole look of a room with little effort.
In my spring home tour I shared how I added some colorful pillows for spring and fresh flowers to the mantel. I also made some new boxwood sphere topiaries to add elegance and color year round. Even though our living room has neutral furnishings, I am having so much fun playing with color. It is definitely a new territory for me, as I used to be completely all-white shabby chic decor girl in our previous cottage. I still love brocante style and white decor, but a little color just works so well in our home now.
Colorful front doors are all the rage these days! This pretty blue door is so inviting, and hints at the beautiful colors and decor inside.
Modern boho rooms are often neutral overall, with lots of colorful accents such as pottery, glassware, house plants, artwork and textiles.
The kitchen is the heart of the home so add some color to keep it lively and happy!
I love cottage style, and I adore the use of soft wall colors in small cottages or beach homes. Aqua, pink, soft yellow and sage green are so pretty, especially when combined with vintage decor and furnishings.
Whether you have an old farmhouse, a stately Victorian, a small apartment or one of the brand new build on your lot homes, you can still create a very vintage-cottage look and feel using colorful pillows, rugs, blankest and artwork.
I hope you enjoyed seeing all of these colorful interiors today! I truly love neutral rooms and neutral interiors, and I actually used to decorate predominately with shades of white. Nevertheless my style is ever evolving and I have to say that I am really just loving color these days! I am looking forward to all of the blogger summer home tours, since summer is when we see lots of color used in decor, and of course lots of colorful fresh flowers and garden tours too!
If you love colorful rooms then you will definitely want to follow my Colorful Interiors Pinterest board! I am always pinning pretty rooms with color and I will definitely be busy pinning away tons of color inspiration over the next few weeks as I am getting some ideas for summer decorating. Do you love color or are you a neutral decorator at heart? I love hearing from you, dear readers!
Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a colorful summer!

All of this color is fabulous! It’s a gray May in Alaska after a very long dark and gray winter checkered with various shades of neutrals. I’m about to decorate with all of the colors too… maybe even glitter. Any color is better than Alaska Gray. Sounds like a paint color, huh? Don’t buy it! ????????????????????
So yes, this post is lovely and cheerful.
