Happy Good Friday! I am re-sharing this older post again today. I hope it blesses you!
Greetings everyone on this blessed Good Friday! Today I want to honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to glorify his holy name by reflecting on the significance of this precious day. Here are some Good Friday related scriptures for reflection during this holy weekend.
~Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. Revelation 5:12
~The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness. 11I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. John 10:10-11
~For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45
~But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
~He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
~For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:6-10
~He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24
~For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit 1 Peter 3:18
~And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again. Mark 10:34
~So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John 19:30
~Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world (satan) be cast out. John 12:31
~O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15:55
And he kept his promise…
He always keeps his promises!
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2
Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each person according to what he has done. Revelation 22:12
Come quickly Lord Jesus!
This is why we “celebrate” Good Friday. Jesus crushed the enemy, defeating death, hell and the grave! I hope you have enjoyed these Good Friday related bible verses. I pray you all have a blessed Easter!
