French Vintage Treasures Junkin’ Finds Summer 2021

Do you love French Vintage treasures? Here are some of my favorite junkin’ finds of Summer  2021!

Hey there friends! Today I am sharing a quick round-up post of some of my favorite French vintage treasures that I have scored on my summer junkin’ adventures. I haven’t styled any of these beauties yet, but you are sure to see all of them featured in upcoming posts and on my seasonal home tours. Enjoy!

This picture of a Baroque lady in a pretty oval green frame is just one more beauty to add to my collection of “pretty lady pictures.”

I have a thing for small treasures and and botanicals, so these two small vintage botanical pictures in ornate black metal frames ($4 for the set) had to come home with me. I originally thought I would paint the frames white or gold, but the black has grown on me and I think I will keep them as they are.

I found the little Lavande sachet and florentine trinket box on my junkin’ adventures in Wilmington, NC on our beach vacation last week. The vintage jewelry was scored at a local yard sale.

I am a sucker for cameos and any kind of vintage jewelry with floral motifs. These beauties will just fit in the florentine trinket box, but they are too pretty to tuck away!

I didn’t get enough junkin’ time on vacation, so I hit my favorite local thrift shops a few days after we got home. I scored this gorgeous florentine tray for only $6.

This pretty brass tray was only a couple of dollars at the same shop. I love the ornate handles.

How much would you pay for this antique mirror in a high end antiques shop? I would guess around $100 or more. I only paid $10 for this beauty at a favorite local consignment shop!

You know how I love beautiful details on frames and mirrors!

This stunning antique picture of a mother in and child in a gorgeous old frame was found at my absolute favorite vintage shop ever, Vintage Marketplace in Wilimington, NC. It matches the style and era of so many other frames and mirrors in my hoards collections. Check out my post on Vintage Marketplace from a few years ago to get an idea of the gorgeous treasures there.

I never let lack of wall space stop me from buying a vintage picture or frame. I will find some way to enjoy it!

Brown transfeware nesting bowls

When I got home and unpacked my treasures from Vintage Marketplace, I was surprised to find a set of uniquely shaped brown transferware bowls! Sweet Janie Perry, the owner, had gifted them to me. I love them! (Thanks Janie!)

It was hard to decide which I loved best as I LOVE cameos. But the mother and child picture really touched me. I would be tempted to touch up your ornately framed floral pictures with some gold rub and buff or dry brush them with gold; I think I was a magpie in a previous life and love a bit of glitz–sometimes MORE than a bit! My house is open concept and I don’t have enough walls to hang all of my treasures; I switch them out sometimes and COVER walls. I didn’t realize how much I missed yard saling (more common in Maine than estate sales) and have had a field day over the last 2 weeks. But winter inevitably puts a halt to that so I’m gonna go when I can!

Kathy we are definitely kindred spirits! I do love glitz too, especially in my music room which has a bit more of a victorian flair.

As for the wall space, I definitely don’t have it. We have two sets up French doors that take up quite a bit of wall space and a lot of windows. There is a large antique picture with a fall scene that I have passed up twice but it has been keeping me up at night wondering if I can find a place for it. I would love to use it in my fall home tour but I really can’t find a spot even to display it on an easel. Still, I think I might have to go back tomorrow to see if it’s still there or I am going to regret it!

Cameos…I can never pass them up!

I hope you find some great treasures on your next adventures! Thanks so much for visiting!

Amber, I totally love all the junkin’ finds you’ve discovered this year!!! I had to feature your post last week as it just called to me, and because it was French. 😉 (SYS #312) I love the Madonna and child-style photo and the French mademoiselle!!! I do love old frames… And yes, there’s always room! 😀

Enjoy all of your treasures and happy back to school,
    Hugs,
    Barb 🙂
