Easter and Spring Inspiration and Thursday Favorite Things

Happy MARCH  and welcome to Thursday Favorite Things! I am thrilled to celebrate my FIFTH year co-hosting this fabulous weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers with Katherine of Katherine’s Corner and a fantastic group of bloggers! Last week marked the 600th TFT! Please hop over to Katherine’s after linking up to congratulate her on the milestone and to thank her for starting this wondeful party.

NOTE: The party time has changed to 9:00 a.m. MDT (11:00 EST)

If you would like to make some new friends, grow your blog audience, or just find some weekly inspiration, this is the place to be! *Bloggers: Please leave a comment with the number of your link up for a chance to be featured at next week’s party. The hosts are all looking forward to what you’ll share this week! (If you missed the last party and the AWESOME features, you’ll find it here. Here’s what I have been up to recently:

I haven’t been doing any “normal It’s been a bit of a stressful week of new home renovations with what my husband and I are now calling “The Great Hardwood Floor Fiasc!”  Last week I shared post all about beautiful light and natural hardwood floor staining options, and we had decided that was the direction we wanted to go. However, our plans did not work out and the clear coat we used on the unstained floors turned everything splotchy gold and orange! The red oak is just not cooperating with us right now! So we are moving back toward usinga medium brown, but still having issues with red and orange coming through. We are doing some experimenting and playing around with stain combinations including using gray–greens to tone down red, and hopefully we will come up with something this weekend to neutralize the red in the floors without being too dark. I will share an update post this weekend with the good, the bad, and the worst!

Good luck with your red oak floors! We have them throughout our first floor. No matter what stain we’ve tried — and we’ve tried several from medium to dark — the red begins to show through after a couple of years, particularly those areas that regularly get sunshine. Thank you for hosting the get-together each week! I’ve linked #57 today.

Ah, the trials of staining hardwood floors! We could have a long and spirited discussion about that, but I’ll defer on it for now! 🤣 Your vintage crocks and spring flowers are inspiring, and so beautiful. We still have a ways to go here, but things are starting to bloom. Thanks so much for hosting the party – I’m linked at #68. Take care and Happy Weekend!
