Welcome back friends! The sun is shining and summer is surely not far off now! With the arrival of warmer weather, I have been dreaming of creating a beautiful patio area to enjoy more time outdoors. As I was searching Pinterest I kept coming across some of the most chic and glamorous outdoor living spaces, which have become all the rage. As I was studying the gorgeous photos, I realized that with the right furnishings and accessories any outdoor space can transformed into a chic and glam “room.” Here are some chic and glamorous outdoor living spaces for inspiration. *This post contains affiliate links.
I love how today’s homeowners are re-imagining patios, decks and covered porches as living “rooms.” Designing a chic and glamorous outdoor living space is really not much different than styling a room indoors.
Vintage and modern styles easily work well together outdoors, and it is on trend to mix rustic and ornate furnishings and garden style accessories in outdoor living spaces.
Of course beautiful outdoor furniture is the backbone of the design. Lots of plants and flowers are perfect for making outdoor living spaces seamlessly blend in with nature too.
Many outdoor living spaces have some sort of pergola, covering or windbreak, forming a “room” which can be set up in much the same way as an indoor room with furniture and accessories. An outdoor daybed topped with luxurious textiles certainly adds a touch of glam to any outdoor space. While there is plenty of outdoor furniture specifically created to weather the elements, indoor furniture and upholstery can also be used outdoors as long as it sealed properly with an outdoor paint or sealer.
Nothing glams up a space quite like a swoonworthy chandelier! To create a glamorous outdoor living space simply hang a gorgeous chandy or chic light fixture from the porch, deck or even a tree. The light can be wired to work, or candles can be used for romantic Al fresco dining.
Candles and lanterns definitely create a chic and glamorous outside space and provide a romantic, dreamy ambiance.
Choosing the right patio furniture to suit your needs and style is also important. Globo Surf is a great resource for choosing the best outdoor patio furniture.
In addition to candles and beautiful outdoor furniture, another easy way to transform a garden space is to hang a large, ornate mirror on an exterior wall or fence. Mirrors can magically reflect garden views making the garden and outdoor living area seem larger. Tres’ chic!
Using garden lights and fairly lights can also make an outdoor space seem a bit more glamorous and magical.
A rustic outdoor fireplace immediately transforms an ordinary patio into a chic and glamorous outdoor living space.
So what do you think about these outdoor rooms? I only have a small patio space, but all it will take is the right styling with some glam and chic accessories to get a similar look. I have even been looking at DIY outdoor fireplace plans and they really don’t seem too hard to build. You don’t even have to have an actual covered porch or outdoor room to get the “look and feel” of a room when an outdoor fireplace is the focal point on a patio.
For now there are plenty of other projects on “the list,” but at some point we are definitely going to be working on our patio, so at least I have some new ideas for the area. Do you have your own special outdoor living space? I would love to hear about it! Let’s talk outdoor decor!

May 26, 2018 at 10:02 pmWe built a large covered patio last summer. Although it’s not decorated beautifully like these examples it is nice to be able to sit outside in the evening without the heat beating down on us.

May 26, 2018 at 10:01 pmSo much beautiful inspiration Amber! I consider our pergola covered patio to be an extension of our home. We use it constantly from Spring to fall. It’s not nearly as fancy as these, but I have lots of plants and a few fun vintage pieces. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
