Happy MAY and welcome to TFT! This is now my SEVENTH year co-hosting this fabulous weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers with Katherine of Katherine’s Corner and a fantastic group of bloggers!
If you are looking for inspiration and new friends, you have come to the right place. Be sure to check out all of the wonderful blog post via the link up below.
Here’s what I’ve been up to!
I am in full gardening mode now, although the deer have already started wreaking havoc! They have eaten hostas, herbs, coneflowers and black eyed susan foliage (both are supposed to be “deer resistant!”) and they even chomped on a marigold! Just about the only things that haven’t bothered is this purple salvia and my peonies. I had my hostas covered with deer and bird netting but the wind uncovered a few of them for a couple of hours and that was all it took for the dear to get in there and feast.
My late grandfather’s irises were blooming so beautifully and I was going to share a blog post about them. I went out to take a picture only to find that in between breakfast and lunch the deer had had lunch on my irises! You can see in the picture where the bloom was bitten off. Grr! I don’t get it because I see many neighbors that have irises with no chomping on theirs! My husband sprinkled some stinky deer away granules, so we will see if that deters them now.
I do have a lot of herb seedlings on my deck that are unscathed as of this point and I plan to put a little mixed herb planter together for my mom for Mother’s Day.
Here is a cute and easy Succulent Hanging Basket that I made for my Mom for Mother’s Day a few years ago.
Now it’s time for some lovely features from last week’s party!
