Hello and welcome back to another week of Thursday Favorite Things! I am so happy you are here! I am blessed to be joining Katherine at Katherine’s Corner and a wonderful group of bloggers as a co-hostess for this fantastic weekly blog party. If you are looking to grow your blog, make new friends, and be inspired each week, this is the place to be! If you would like a chance to be featured, please leave me a comment with the number of your link up. I am looking forward to seeing what you have been up to!
It has been a very inspiring beginning to 2018! Last week’s TFT was just wonderful with so many amazing posts and ideas to try in the year ahead. I have been ready to get started on my own DIY list, but this week I had to concentrate on packing up Christmas, cleaning, and organizing so I can begin with a fresh slate. After Christmas I start looking for ways to give my home a fresh vintage style makeover. Yesterday I shared a round up of beautiful decorative accents from Bits Of Vintage that would be perfect for any home decor winter refresh. If you are unfamiliar with this shop and love vintage farmhouse and cottage style, you won’t want to miss this post!
On Instagram I posted my latest kitchen photo highlighting how I have transitioned from Christmas to winter. I will be sharing more of my winter kitchen in an upcoming blog post.
I also shared how I have corralled a collection of favorite ironstone platters in a vintage bicycle basket. When you run out of shelf space, a chippy vintage chair is a fun alternative!
Now let’s check out my features from last week’s party:
Home Decor And DIY’s
Marie Helene of Kingsbury Brook Farm shared her Top 10 posts of 2017 which included this gorgeous cupboard makeover.
She also shared an inexpensive project that brings character and vintage charm to any space.
Randi at A Fresh Squeezed Life shared several amazing DIY projects and makeovers, as well as a personal and inspiring post about why she DIYs.
I am joining a group of bloggers next week for a neutral winter home tour, so I really enjoyed all the inspiration by Lora of Lora Bloomquist in her very detailed and informative post, 10 Winter Neutral Accessories To Style Your Home. In addition she linked up the coolest repurposed vintage drawer that she uses as decor for holidays and special occasions.
Holly at Life On Southpointe Drive shared how to Update Door Hardware With Spray Paint. This is one of those projects that has been on my to do list for a while and I am so happy to have found this great DIY tutorial!
Recipe Features
I am looking to add more greens and fresh fruits to my diet in 2018. Having multiple food allergies means simple and clean eating is a way of life, but sometimes menus can get a redundant. I am looking forward trying this Orange and Pomegranate Salad by Home Cooking Memories. Mmmm…pomegranates!
Just in time for a New Year clean eating detox, Erin at Delightful E Made shared a healthy Honey Crisp and Sweet Kale Salad. Hooray for kale… a healing superfood and….mmm…honeycrisp apples!
Now I can’t wait to try out one of these salads this afternoon and browse through all the inspiring Thursday Favorite Things posts! Link Away!

January 12, 2018 at 5:47 pmHi Amber! I finally put together an assortment of finds I gathered at the end of 2017, but never got around to posting (#260). I’m dragging my heels into the new year, taking it easy with blogging, but I hear the sirens calling me. 🙂 Thanks for being part of Katherine’s team and hosting TFT.
January 12, 2018 at 1:09 pmOh yes, I know all about all those sirens…I am hearing them on this Friday morning even through the icy rain pattering on the roof, calling me to the 20% off sale at the local consignment shop!
