Neutral and Rustic Fall Tablescape

neutral and rustic fall tablescape fall farmhouse tablescape white pumpkins

Welcome friends, and welcome fall!  Today I am happy to be joining my friend Chloe of Celebrate and Decorate and 25 other blogging friends for the Welcome Fall Tablescapes Blog Hop. You can find links to each beautiful fall tablescape via the participant list at the end of this post.

The past two weeks have been extremely busy with my son’s sports activities and getting everything ready for his big first homecoming dance this weekend. With so much going on I needed to quickly pull together a simple table with some of my everyday neutral and rustic items with a few other touches for Autumn. As much as I love fall color I just felt like I needed some calm neutrals in the dining room during this busy time.

I used the same main tablescape elements from my spring and summer tables including a weathered French farmhouse basket tray lined with a French script fabric remnant as the centerpiece. The basket is filled with rustic fall treasures such as leaves, acorns, antlers and mini velvet pumpkins. My DIY Graywashed French Farmhouse Basket holds a gathering of wheat and pheasant feathers and is a focal point along with a stack of two lumpy, white heirloom pumpkins and my little thrifted-rescued-three-legged-estate-sale-squirrel.

I also tucked in some handmade paper feathers that I found at the Country Living Fair.

Two tall rustic candlestick with pillar candles, vintage white washed brass candlesticks with taper candles, and my favorite little French urns topped with my DIY Shabby Vintage Burlap Pumpkins balance out each side of the table.

As always I have used several Dollar Tree items in my decor including the burlap pumpkins, spanish moss, and some pretty glass candle holders. Acorns and small pine cones are scattered along a Rachel Ashwell rustic linen table runner while a few of my prized deer antlers add extra natural texture and interest.

For my place settings I used jute placemats, camel colored faux leather chargers, linen napkins and a stack of vintage Johnson Brothers ironstone dishes topped by white “baby boo” pumpkins.

I didn’t really want to use my gold flatware for this place setting. There is so much going on this week that we probably will be eating quick meals in the breakfast nook anyway, so I didn’t set out any silverware.

I still felt like the table wouldn’t be complete without utensils, so I gathered up some old tarnished silverplate utensils and placed them in a vintage ironstone pitcher. The pitcher has a wheat motif and is one of my favorite pieces to use in fall decorating.

I really love neutral decor so I had most everything on hand except the real pumpkins and the glass candles holders. I am really loving these candle holders, especially with the little birch log votives.

The $4.24 spent on the gold rimmed Dollar Tree wine glasses was definitely well spent considering I have used them over and over in my tablescapes.

You might recognize my little three legged estate squirrel from my Early Fall Living Room Refresh. He must have followed the trail of acorns from the living room into the dining room and has made his way onto the table in search of more to hoard away for the winter.

Lighting the candles seemed to make the tablescape come alive with fall vibes and the cozy glow of autumn.

I am really enjoying this neutral decor in the dining room, but soon I will pull out all the stops with more fall color when the leaves start changing outside. I already got started with colorful fall decor in the living room.

Everything is starting to look cozy and fallish inside, so now the weather just needs to cooperate!  Hopefully by next week this unseasonably hot weather will turn to cooler fall tempertures with Autumn’s official arrival this weekend!

I hope you have found some inspiring fall decor ideas here today! I will be sharing so much more fall decor over the next few weeks to celebrate all the joys of my favorite season, so please do stop back by often to visit!

If neutral fall decor isn’t your cuppa pumpkin spice latte, you can still find plenty of colorful fall tablescape inspiration on this fabulous blog hop. Don’t forget to check out all of the beautiful blogs below. Next up the fall fun continues with Red Cottage Chronicles. I always enjoy what Maureen has to share.

Thank you so much for visiting today. Happy fall!

Amber, I love your cozy, calm, and serene fall tablescape. I’ve admired your tiny french urns before and they look so nice with the cute DIY painted burlap pumpkins! That was a clever DIY.
The birch votive candle added great texture. I love your real pumpkins, too. I haven’t seen any in our area yet.
    Happy Fall!

There is always something pure and simple about a neutral tablescape and during the change of the season to a cozy Fall, the idea of a neutral tablescape is like putting on a warm and fuzzy sweater. Cozy, warm and very comforting. I love all of the natural elements and use of various textures. Gorgeous!

Your sweet three- legged squirrel and the layers of detail at your table make it a wonderful place to sit down for dinner and take it all in. Enjoy the weekend festivities!

I am such a lover of neutral decor on a table, or throughout my home when decorating for a holiday, and I agree, it is a great way to ease into a new season or holiday. I look forward to seeing your home as you add the fall colors, too. Those white pumpkins are so unusual, their flat almost UFO looking shape is so unique and a creative addition to your table. The tall basket with the number adds another texture to your fall table! Thank you so much for joining us again and sharing your creative talents with us all!

Hi Amber sorry to be late. I’m a neutral fall girl. Don’t get me wrong, fall is my favorite hands down.

Except fr a couple of mums indoors and lavender everything else is neutral. This year I used nuts in their shell for fall. Forgot how pretty they are to add.

Your tables always inspire. For three legs the squirrel sure gets around hoarding for the winter.

All the abundance of coer around our outdoors I feel like it would be overload indoors. We have tons of windows.

Can’t wait to read about your Joann trip.
