Hello friends! The countdown to Christmas is on, and with just a week left until the big day I am trying to share lots of last minute Christmas inspiration on the blog while also enjoying Christmas in the “real world.” Today I am happy to have my dear Instagram friend and #madforplaiddecor co-host Karen (IG Life On Little Creek ) to share her cozy Christmas home highlights with us. Karen has such a fun mix of casual vintage and modern farmhouse style that makes her Indiana home seem so warm and welcoming. Take a look at how Karen does Christmas on Little Creek!
I am so excited to do a guest blog post about my Christmas decor for my friend Amber! This year I decided to go with mostly red, gray, black and white with a lot of natural elements.
On the porch I used some of my vintage pieces filled with artificial trees, live greenery and lots of twinkle lights! On the door is a gorgeous wreath from Lynch Creek Farm which is surrounded by live cedar roping from Menard’s.
In my entryway is where you begin to see my love of plaids! I have used plaid throws over the little antique rocking chair and the church pew along with a mix of plaid and solid pillows.
Under the pew you will find my dough bowl filled with more live greenery and chippy architectural salvage pieces I have collected over the years.
I have mixed in a little bit of Christmas with my vintage treasures indoors and out.
In the living room I have incorporated a little bit of turquoise to match the colors in my vintage Shiny Brite ornaments I have displayed in a little black truck and an old tool box tray.
More gray, black, red and plaid farmhouse touches can be found in our bedroom.
In the back of the house my dining area and family adjoin so here you will find lots of red throughout. The dining room table is dressed with a red tablecloth and a centerpiece made from an antique silver tray and candlesticks all surrounded by a pretty garland from Joann.com A matching garland adorns the top of my light fixture.
For my table I layered plaid salad plates with my vintage ironstone and IKEA dinner plates. The silverware was my grandmother’s and the glassware is a Goodwill find. Each place setting was topped off with its own bottlebrush tree for a bit of holiday whimsy!!
In the family room is where the tree graces the corner filled with glass snowman, handmade and family ornaments along with a buffalo check ribbon garland.
On the wall you will find an antique mantle shelf filled with vintage pieces and lots of greenery, pinecones and twinkle lights.
The furniture in here has been cozied up with more plaid throws and mixture of plaid and solid pillows and of course a cute doggie! This season is all about enjoying family and traditions, having a cozy, comfy space to do that makes it all that much more special!
Thanks so much Amber for hosting me on your blog! Merry Christmas to you and everyone!!!
