Late October Fall Inspiration at Thursday Favorite Things

Fall Decorating ideas fall decor blogger link party bittersweet vintage treasures

Happy October, and welcome to TFT! This is my FIFTH year co-hosting this fabulous weekly link party for bloggers and blog readers with Katherine of Katherine’s Corner and a fantastic group of bloggers! We recently celebrated the 600th TFT! Please hop over to Katherine’s after linking up to congratulate her on the milestone and to thank her for starting this wonderful party.
NOTE: The party time has changed to 9:00 a.m. MDT (11:00 EST)

Here’s what I’ve been up to:

Unfortunately I have dealt with another round of the flu, which exacerbated  some chronic health flare ups, so I haven’t been able do a lot of bloggy stuff. I did however start feeling a little better this past weekend and ended up snagging some great thrifted finds of specific items that I have been looking for since moving in to our new home, including the fabulous Federal eagle mirror that I gave a quick makeover. Check out my recent October Junkin’ Finds  to see my scores and the “after” of the mirror.

I also scored some gorgeous Norfolk Pine Garland at Marshalls! If you fell in love with Norfolk Pine like I did last season, then you probably know how hard it is to come by and how expensive it can be. The Marshall’s price was a great bargain and I figure I was just there at the right time! Don’t worry, my mantel isn’t actually seasonally confused, but I was just testing out the pine garland to get an idea of how I might want to style the mantel for Christmas.
