Hello dear friends and readers! Back in the early summer I received a beautiful, Vibrant Handkerchief Throw from Victorian Trading Co. along with several other amazing treasures which you may have seen in my previous posts. I have been waiting to share the throw here on the blog until I finished up a “mini-makeover” in my music room, and now the wait is over! Currently I am using the throw draped over a chair in the music room and I just love it! *This post is sponsored by Victorian Trading Co. All opinions are my own. Last week I shared my updated music room in my Transitioning From Summer To Fall Home Tour. The music room is filled with most of my Victorian, shabby chic and brocante style treasures, so the quilt fits right it. The mini-makeover included the addition of two vintage wing chairs, and now I finally have the perfect place to display (and use) this stunning quilt. Since I painted the outdated upholstery on the chairs with chalk paint, the chairs are just a little stiff. A comfortable quilt or throw is a must for the chairs. This vibrant handkerchief throw is truly comfy and cozy!
The colors are so bright and beautiful! There are so many different colors and flowers in the design. With a little creativity in styling other decorative accents in the room, the quilt will work for all seasons.
For now I have styled an end of summer vignette on the side table with a bouquet of late summer flowers which compliments the throw beautifully.
I must have flowers, always and always…
~Claude Monet
A French basket styled with a gathering of dried flowers, gardening books and found treasures picks up on the colors of late summer and early fall in the quilt.
For a more subtle look, the quilt can also be displayed on the reverse side.
This throw would make a wonderful gift for a wedding or new baby. It is more like a quilt, and it could easily become an heirloom.
On the side table next to the chair, a copy of Victorian Trading Co.’s gorgeous catalog is in easy reach. I have also added some lovely Lidded Floral Porcelain Boxesto the styled tray.
These dainty bisque boxes are so pretty and can be used to store jewelry or other bits and bobs. I used a couple of them to hold sugar for my special tea party with Beethoven, and another is filled with dried lavender buds. If you love tea parties, don’t miss my post, A Classical Tea For Beethoven and Me.
Looking through Victorian Trading Co. catalogs is always so inspiring. After reading them I always want to create beautiful vintage Victorian vignettes with my small treasures and trinkets.
Here I added another floral porcelain lidded box and a pretty thrifted picture I just recently found.
The set of 12 boxes each have different flowers on the lids. I picked out a few with autumnal colors to display on top of the piano while transitioning from summer to fall.
I love the pretty lidded boxes! I think they would make such nice little gifts or party favors.
In addition to lots of pinks, yellows and summer blues, the throw includes autumn tones of mustard gold, brown, burgundy and orange. The addition of a velvet pumpkin and some orange chrysanthemums on this vintage foot stool-turned-tray brings out the fall colors in the quilt.
In addition to indoor use, the throw is perfect to use for picnics from summer through fall.

I just may grab my quilt and a few Victorian Trading Co. catalogs and take them to a secret spot under a favorite tree or in the garden for a bit of late summer or early autumn day dreaming. I love to spend time in the garden with my magical friends, the Cottingley Garden Sprites from Victorian Trading Co.!
Introducing the Lovely Cottingley Garden Sprites
Cottingley Garden Sprite Stakes
Fall is actually a very magical time in the garden. There is still plenty of time to enjoy late summer flowers and of course the stunning array of autumn’s colors and textures in the garden as fall progresses. If you like to add a touch of magic to your garden in the fall, you will certainly love all of the beautiful garden decor and accessories by Victorian Trading Co.
You can see more of the Cottingley Garden Fairies, the Stately Manor Bird House, and the Carrier Pigeon Postal Box in my Vintage Summer Garden Tour.
For now we are still having high temperatures in the 90’s for late summer, which means the air conditioning is cranked up inside. Since I am always a bit cold indoors, I am enjoying the coziness of my throw as I snuggle up in one of my “new” wing chairs in the music room and dream up beautiful ideas for fall decorating just around the corner. Victorian Trading Co. now has all of their beautiful fall and Halloween items available online and in their catalog and I can’t wait to check them out!
