    Charming Vintage Recipe Cards

Collecting and decorating with vintage recipe cards

We finally got our first real snow day here!  I really loved sitting in the breakfast nook “taking tea” and enjoying the snowy pines out the window. It was the perfect day to stay inside and finish up packing away all the Christmas decorations and to do some winter styling in the kitchen.

One of my favorite yard sale finds is a collection of charming vintage recipe cards. Over the years I have used them time and time again in seasonal vignettes. As I was styling this winter  vignette on top of my old retro cabinet filled with Rae Dunn Pottery, I got the idea to do a little post all about my vintage recipe cards. *This post contains affiliate links.

Bits Of Vintage: Beautiful Decorative Accents For A Winter Home Refresh

Beautiful Vintage Style Decorative Accents Vintage Home Decor Found Objects

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great week! Today I am excited to be sharing one of my favorite home decor shops, Bits Of Vintage! After the holidays I have decided that there seriously needs to be a “Winter Home Decor Refresh” around here! Although I am primarily a vintage decorator, I always try to incorporate a few stylish new decor accent pieces to keep my style from looking “dated.” Even though I junk hard to use mostly vintage and antique finds, in the winter it can be more difficult to get out and go junkin’, and there can be some “slim pickin’s” this time of year. That is why I am so thrilled to have discovered Bits Of Vintage, and I am proud to be partnering with them too! *This post contains affiliate links. See my full disclosure policy for details.

Do you love collecting, learning, sharing, pinning and talking about all kinds of vintage dishes and china? Then “Let’s Dish It Out!” Grab your favorite cup of coffee or tea and come on over for a weekly coffee social or (tea party if you prefer!)  This isn’t a linky party, so you don’t need a blog to participate. Instead it is just a simple way to connect with others who are passionate about vintage dishes and have the “dish gene!” I will share a new post about vintage dishes and you can join in the fun any time! Simply leave your thoughts in the comment section about the post I have shared, or share a link to your own blog, Instagram photo, Etsy shop if you sell dishes, or any other blog or website with great dishes! For even more fun, join my “Let’s Dish It Out” Pinterest GROUP BOARD and pin away! I will be blogging about my own collections or featuring another collector’s dishes, or maybe even an informational post about a certain line of vintage dishes. For a special treat I will be having a monthly guest blogger to dish it out right here at Follow The Yellow Brick Home! If you would like to be a guest blogger or have a fantastic dish collection to share, be sure to comment!

Any style of vintage or antique dishes from every era are welcome for discussion! I collect all kinds of dishes, but ironstone is definitely my favorite so there will be plenty of ironstone showing up in this series. Each Wednesday I participate in the fabulous #ironstonewednesdays hashtag party on Instagram, so I figured why not just turn what I am sharing or inspired by into a post here? For today’s post I will be dishing out my Adams English Ironstone Empress collection! Read more

Easy Easter Vignettes Using Vintage Easter Postcards

Vintage Easter postcards are so beautiful, wouldn’t you agree? I have been collecting old cards for many years but there’s just something about vintage Easter postcards that I love the most. The images of vibrant spring colors, sweet flowers, fluffy bunnies, tiny chicks, little birds, festive eggs and religious sentiments make the postcards perfect inspiration for creating festive Easter vignettes around the home.
