Harvest Home Tour Early Fall 2017

Welcome everyone to my “Harvest Home” early fall home tour! I am so thrilled you are visiting today! If you are coming over from A Delightsome Life and the previous tours on our Harvest Home Blog Hop, then I know you have already been inspired by a wonderful group of talented ladies and their beautiful homes. It has been such a pleasure to coordinate and host this blog hop! Now it’s time for me to finish up the tour by inviting you into my 1921 yellow brick home!

On this tour you will see how I decorate for early fall as I am still transitioning into the season, taking cues from nature. It has been 80 degrees lately and the leaves are only barely starting to change here in Eastern, KY, so it’s still a couple of weeks before I go all out on my fall colors and pumpkin extravaganza. I have decorated our front porch very simply to start off the season with a big basket of white mums sitting on a vintage chair by the front door. Last week I went a friend’s yard sale and she gifted me this big white pumpkin right out of her garden. I am really loving how the white mums and pumpkin look with the yellow bricks too!

    DIY Shabby Vintage Burlap Pumpkins

How to give inexpensive Dollar Tree Burlap Pumkins A Shabby Vintage Makeover With Chalk Paint and Vintage Embellishments Chalk Painted Pumpkins DIY

It’s almost the middle of September, and I am going fall crazy over here! Today I spent the day chalk painting pumpkins and in between drying times I have been decorating for the Harvest Home Blog Hop which begins next Tuesday! This coming Saturday I am going junkin’ at the Country Living Fair, which means I won’t be able to do any crafting or decorating that day, so I am really rushing to get things ready now! I wanted to use the burlap pumpkins in some vignettes for the tour, so I hustled and finished some today and I am so glad I did. Now I am excited to show you how you can make some DIY shabby vintage burlap pumpkins too. They turned out so pretty and even though I have tons of other things to do, I am heading back to Dollar Tree tomorrow to buy a few more. Just take a look at these beauties! I need a whole bucket full! This post is sponsored by DecoArt and contains affiliate links for your convenience.

French Country Inspired Heirloom Pumpkins Display

    French Country Heirloom Pumpkins Display

It’s pumpkin time…almost! I already have a large pumpkin growing in the garden, and Instagram and Pinterest are full of pictures of my beloved heirloom pumpkins in all shapes, colors and sizes! I am still holding out until September before the pumpkins start magically appearing all around our home, but I sure am busy getting ideas and making plans! I especially love French Country inspired fall decor both indoors and out, and I love to incorporate shabby French touches whenever possible. Each year I challenge myself to come up with new designs and color schemes for my outdoor displays, but I absolutely must include soft, muted-toned heirloom pumpkins along with magical mums and beautiful autumn kale!

It is hard to pick a favorite, but I love the soft, peachy-coral color and shape of the Musquee De Provence pumpkin as pictured above in lovely Aix-en-Provence, France. I discovered them several years ago and now it just wouldn’t be fall around our home without several of these beauties!  Source: Pinterest Read more
