Happy Mother’s Day everyone! Today I have been thinking of how blessed I am to have a wonderful Christian mother and friend. I have also thought of all of the wonderful woman who have been mother figures in my life. While looking for some beautiful images to share in my post, I came across some vintage Good Housekeeping Magazine Covers from the 1920’s and 1930’s that I thought would be perfect for celebrating the day. Enjoy!
Christian Living
Hello dear friends! I just want to wish everyone a blessed Palm Sunday, and to take this time to give glory to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ our savior. Hosanna in the highest!
Matthew 21
21 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
“And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” [Matthew 21:9]
With all the fun and excitement that comes along with secular Easter activities, let us not forget to focus on the true meaning of Easter, the passion of Christ and his glorious resurrection. What a blessed hope! Hosanna in the highest!
Happy Easter time!

Tips For Making Charitable Donations That Count
Okay friends, it’s March! Time to start tackling the spring cleaning full force! To get started, take a look at your house— from your wardrobe to your basement, and ask yourself, “Do I really need all this junk???” And by junk, I am even including all of the extra vintage decorative items and holiday decor that really aren’t life necessities. We fill our homes with so many “things” that we really don’t need, and most of the time the excess items just end up cluttering our minds too. After this last Christmas it seemed to take forever to pack away the decor and I have struggled to organize the basement ever since, so it is time get things under control! I am purging all of the excess this spring! For this great purging, I am focusing on donating to charities. I also want to make sure my donations go to worthy causes so I have been doing some research. Here are some tips for making charitable donations that count. *This post contains affiliate links and/or sponsored content.
Hello there! It’s going to be a busy day right? Do you have a “to-do” list a mile long for the day or week ahead? I know I have a thousand things I would like to accomplish, and I am sure you do too. Let’s get to it!
“But First, Coffee.”
We have all seen this slogan on cute coffee mugs, farmhouse signs, chalkboards and even t-shirts. It’s a well-known fact that coffee practically fuels our world! But where is our true power source? Shouldn’t we really be saying, “But first, Jesus” instead? Coffee is fine, (it’s green tea for me, thanks), but the issue is whether or not Jesus is our top priority. I know I have had to take a closer look at my own priorities lately, and I quickly realized that Jesus most certainly has not been first.
It’s been an exciting week as my long awaited new blog has finally become a reality. I have barely been able to sleep with all the creative ideas running through my mind. Although I have blogged in the past, a chronic long term illness resulted in sporadic blogging and eventually a total hiatus. As with all things technology related, so much has changed and there are many new things to learn, but I am a born go-getter, and when I put my mind to something it’s all or nothing!
