Beinvenue Summer! French Cottage and Garden Style Summer Porch Tour

Beinvenue friends…and beinvenue SUMMER!  Today I am thrilled to hosting the “Spring Into Summer” Porches, Patios and Outdoor Spaces Blog Hop where twenty fabulous blogging friends and I are getting together to share ideas for decorating various outdoor areas for summer. You can find links to all of the beautiful blogs at the end of this post. After weeks of battling pollen and rain, my husband and I were finally able to get the porch cleaned up last weekend. I ended up doing some unexpected restyling of the porch which resulted in a refreshed look in my favorite French (vintage) cottage and garden style.  Come on up to the porch and take a look around! Nine Beautiful Summer Porch Ideas

Summertime, and the livin’s easy! As a choir teacher, how could I resist “singing” such a fitting attention getter for today’s round up of nine fabulous summer porch ideas? Who doesn’t love easy summer living on a beautifully styled porch or patio? If you are looking for some serious inspo for styling your outdoor spaces, eight friends and I are sharing some of our favorite ideas today as part of a fun summer porch round-up! A special thank you goes out to Rachel at The Ponds Farmhouse for organizing this fun get together.  Let’s start porch hopping over at Rachel’s beautiful home!

    1. Rachel at The Ponds Farmhouse

Rachel always decorates with the best rustic farmhouse and vintage finds indoors, so why would her summer porch be an exception? I would love to just “shop” her porch! Her use of baskets, galvanized goodies and geraniums along with chippy-shabby treasures makes me want to hit the junkin’ trail and local nursery to create similar looks for my back porch.  Aren’t those pink geraniums buckets just pure simple farmhouse summer perfection? For more of Rachel’s creative porch ideas as well as some useful tips for cleaning and maintaining a summer porch, check out her Five Summertime Summer Porch Tips.

    2. Robyn at Robyn’s French Nest

Robyn shared an absolutely unbelievable before and after outdoor space in her post, Curb Appeal on a Budget. I love how she decorated the space with thrifted finds and kept the styling light and bright. Aren’t those lanterns just awesome? This looks like the perfect spot for enjoying some glorious Florida summer sunshine! That chippy swan can just float on upstream to my Kentucky porch any time!

    3. Karianne at Thistlewood Farm

Karianne is always inspiring with her amazing style both indoors and out! Just one look at her inviting summer porch makes you want to head on inside to check take in her gorgeously designed spaces. I am swooning over those urns topped with plant tuteurs, and that mirrored door creates a magical illusion of additional gardens to explore! For more creative ideas, check out Karianne’s Seven Simple Summer Outdoor Decorating Ideas.

    4. Wendy at WM Design House

If you know anything about me, then you certainly know I love historic homes full of character and gorgeous decor with stories of their own. I would love to spend a sunny afternoon sipping tea on Wendy’s lovely 1897 front porch chatting all things home and garden, and imagining the stories her beautiful old home would tell. Head over to Wendy’s blog where she shares several ideas for summer porch decorating as well as some lovely sentiments in her post, Life is Better on the Porch: The Joys of Porch Life.

    5. Kristin at White Arrows Home

My friend Kristin never fails to inspire when she shares all the creative ways she seasonally decorates the porch of her dreamy North Woods Cabin. Her Summer Porch Decor in Blue and White  porch looks so refreshing and stylish! The color scheme is perfect for the porch of her cabin situated near a lake. I love all the ferns and flowers!

    6. Ann at Dabbling and Decorating

If this was my backyard view, I would never want to leave! Ann has created the perfect outdoor space for enjoying her  picturesque Vermont landscape with family and friends by designing the perfect backyard patio with a conversation set and firepit. I love her furniture choices and the stone patio! After reading Ann’s post and looking at all of the gorgeous photos, I am ready to plan a trip to Vermont!

    7. Mary at Life at Bellaterra

Mary and her husband have created a magazine-worthy back terrace at their stunning 1910 Arizona home with a little creativity and elbow grease. After cleaning and DIY repairs, Mary styled the terrace perfectly with pops of green (my favorite color!) and lovely outdoor furniture and accessories. You’ll love the before and after!

    8. Stacy at Bricks and Blooms

My friend Stacy is a gal after my own heart with her passion for gardening and thrifting for vintage finds!  Just take a look at the landscape and potted containers surrounding her new home! Stacy’s porch is perfect for relaxing and enjoying all of the gorgeous flowers. Recently she shared the coolest vintage find repurposed as a planter in her post, The Prettiest Thrift Flip Idea for the Front Porch. “Stroll” on over to see beautiful summer porch with a very unique planter!

    9. Beinvenue Summer! Welcoming Summer with French Country Style

Lastly, I happy to welcome you to our 100 year-old yellow brick porch! When Rachel asked if I’d like to participate in today’s porch round up I was hesitant because I haven’t styled our summer porch just yet. This time of year in Kentucky we are just finishing up a month of our yearly “Pollenapocalypse” so I never attempt to style our porch until mid-June. However, we were welcome to use older posts, so I was excited to revisit my French Country summer porch from a couple of years ago. Check out the post to see how I decorated our one hundred year old porch with a nods to my love of gardening and French Country style: Beinvenue Summer! French Country and Garden Style Summer Porch Tour.

I hope you have enjoyed this round-up of nine summer porch ideas as much as I have. Be sure to check out each individual post for all the details and tons of amazing photos. Now that the worst of the pollen is over, I will be borrowing several of these ideas to use on my front porch and back patio. I will be sharing my outdoor spaces as soon as they are finished up.

Have you styled your porch for summer already? I love hearing from you!

    Thanks for visiting today!

July Pinterest Challenge: Summer Decorating with Lemons

I don’t know about you, but I just don’t think summer would be complete without some sunshiny-lemony goodness! Lemons are certainly a quintessential summer fruit! Most everyone loves sipping on old-fashioned lemonade, enjoying a lemon-flavored dessert, or brightening a spot in their home with a simple bowl of lemons.

Today I am excited to be joining my friend Cindy of County Road 407 and several blogging friends for our monthly Pinterest Challenge! As you have probably guessed, the theme is lemons. More specifially, we have been challenged to create our own lemons and flowers arrangement using the beautiful Pinterest inspiration photo below by Mary of Home is Where the Boat Is. We all just loved her “All Abuzz: Lemons and Bees Vase Arrangement and Tablescape.”
